This HILLSIDE property is 12 minutes walk or a 3 minute taxi ride from the beach. Cerrito Tropical Eco Lodge offers comfortable relaxing accommodations with an ocean view Plunge Pool and Sun-Terrace. My stay at Cerrito Tropical Eco Lodge exceeded all expectations. Initially planned for 4 nights, I spontaneously extended my stay with 2 additional nights simply because it was so enjoyable and lovely (both location and even more the staff). The location of the Eco Lodge is perfect: close to the center, yet peacefully situated on a small hill with access to beautiful hiking trails in nature. The breathtaking view over the ocean with ships waiting for the canal passage is characteristic of Panama and has a magical touch. Also, the rooms are spotless and well-equipped with everything you need. The hostess, Vicky, elevates hospitality to a higher level. She goes above and beyond to ensure you have a fantastic stay. From homemade sourdough pizza to pineapple ginger jam at breakfast – everything is prepared with lots of love. Cerrito Tropical Eco Lodge is truly a place where you can feel the passion and dedication. Highly recommended!

I spent a very enjoyable three night stay here as a solo traveller. It is a quiet, secluded location. There is kayaking, fishing from the dock when the water is up, or from kayak. There are a few short hiking trails and a pool. The kitchen staff cleaned and cooked the fish i caught for dinner. Gilberto was a very welcoming and helpful host. A nice place to enjoy nature and Lake Gatun and relax.

Surrounding mountain countryside is idyllic. The host was very informative with excellent communication skills. Service was also excellent. Breakfasts were delicious and quite varied each day. We looked forward to each breakfast and were definitely set up for the day. You do need a car to get around, but the views are stunning. A true 10 out of 10.
