I like Lolita, the caretaker who really lived up to her name--she really took great care of us! We're fellow bisdaks so communication is smooth. I liked our room because it was huge and everything just felt like we were right at home. This is crucial especially if you're flying out the next day since everything in the city is known to have very bad traffic :)

The private beach is kept pristine by daily beach combing, although it has to be said that early in the year the adjacent coastline suffers from seaweed and plastic debris brought in by the prevailing currents. At low tide the extensive tidal lagoons and sand bars provide for a great recreation, just strolling in crystal clear warm waters through meadows of sea grass, looking for exotic sea shells or watching the antics of the tiny blue sand crabs. If you are looking for a small quiet “out of town” retreat on Bantayan, with friendly staff look no further than the Maykenn Beach Resort. PS for a whistle stop tour of other delights on Bantayan the road tour is not to be missed.

There are cooking facilities too which were great and well equipped. Theo and his family were some of the kindest hosts we have come across. We would always choose to stay here again in the future.
