Located near Serra da Estrela, this 250-year old manor house has historic furnishings and artistic accessories. Each themed room is a reminder of older way of life. History oozes from the walls here. It is so much fun to go up the steps that feel like you're about to meet the ruler of the castle. The room I had (with sitting room) was very comfortable and spacious. Breakfast offered a large spread with lots of variety. The hostess is very helpful and kind.

The place is very clean. It is a very peaceful and beautiful place and we enjoyed sitting on the patio with a glass of wine before dinner. You can see the fort from the place. Maria is very friendly and helpful. We had breakfast at Cafe da Maria in town in the morning, which was lovely too.
