Offering a garden and garden view, Mountain Gem is situated in Bloemfontein, 27 km from Boyden Observatory and 2.1 km from Preller Square. I liked everything about this stay. The room had everything we wanted and the garden is superb for relaxation. We are in Bloemfontein but you can imagine being alone on a mountain (thoughtfully supplied with seating and braai places). The location is very convenient for Northridge Mall, with several great restaurants. The biggest bonus of all was the hosts - such a friendly and helpful couple! We discussed all the main topics of the day and of Bloemfontein attractions during our 2 night stay! We must go back for more!

The property features pool and garden views, and is 27 km from Vaal... it was exactly what we were looking for - quiet, away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Marie and Manuel welcomed us and made us feel like we were at home. We sat by the fire playing cards waiting for dinner…. just chilling out. Views out to lake from the whole property. Rooms were very comfortable and food was amazing. Dinner and bfast were so good. Highly recommend this place.

Our hosts have thought about how to create a peaceful, welcoming space to stay, whether just passing through or as a destination vacation. Our room was spacious and very comfortable and we enjoyed the indoor outdoor flow. Dinner and breakfast were delicious. We watched the light fade sitting on comfortable chairs on the covered stoop.

Beautiful, all-new rooms with all-new accoutrements situated right on the river. Fast, stable Wifi. Extremely comfortable bed. Secure parking. They nail all the fine points. Doesn't get better than this anywhere near this price point. Amazingly gracious hosts who, learning of my history studies, helped me identify local sites of interest.
