A 7-minute ride from Ambo Harbour, Daichan House offers the experience of a stay in a Mongolian yurt (tent), in the tranquil countryside. Each tent is rented for a private group.
Equipped with air conditioning and heating, the comfortable Mongolian yurt (tent) offers a bunk bed, a flat-screen TV and a seating area. Tea is provided, and shared bathroom facilities can be used privately.

This was my first time staying in a yurt, and Daichan House did not disappoint! Although we arrived well past sunset, Daichan was very energetic and friendly. After showing us around the property, he gave a little history lesson on Daichan House as well as Yakushima. He prepared a laminated booklet with photos and English descriptions. It was fun to talk with Daichan, which we probably did for over an hour. The yurt and shared restrooms were well-maintained. Free hot water, tea, coffee, and a local mikan orange were also provided :)

Excellent amenities (especially for towels, laundry facilities and airconditioning). Host was super friendly and helpful (her English was limited but we managed fine with google translate). Location is ideal for peace and serenity but only if you have a car (it's a 25mins drive to nearest town centre, Miyanoura, where supermarkets are located).VivianFamily with young children

The unit was clean, with a nice decking area, unique outdoor bath and views towards the sea. Twin beds downstairs, and a futon set up in an open area upstairs for our daughter. Kitchenette ideal to prepare our own meals. Added bonus of a desert made of local fruit provided on our second day, which was a lovely touch.

The room was very comfortable with a lovely view, and the shared rooms (kitchen/bathroom) had everything we needed during our stay. Isso Beach was a short walk away and was a great place to swim and watch the sunset. The twin beds were comfortable and we enjoyed having a small kitchen. The young girl at the reception spoke perfect English and was very helpful. We definitely recommend this place in Yakushima. You need a car though to get around.

Beautiful views (minus the power lines) at sunset of the ocean and mountain. No wifi and western beds weren’t super comfortable. Shared fridge but private bath plus tv and kettle with cups in the room.
