The heater was on ice in the middle of the night, so cold that I couldn't sleep.
The water in the spa is also very cold, making it almost impossible to get in.

Simple but clean and comfortable. As I arrived late, the restaurant was closed. But one of the staff members went the extra mile and prepared a quick meal for me. It was such a nice gesture. Breakfast had yoghurt with fresh fruit (strawberries). Very yummy.

Small town as a gateway to the Lake region.
Small town as a gateway to the Lake region. Perfect for stopping by incase you want to visit Hallstat and other lake regions.
Town itself is good with few important touristic spots like Kaiservilla etc. Good scenery especially on a cloudy day. Being small town shops closes by 6 and then nothing much to do as it becomes quiet.

I have fallen in love with Bad Ischl and its “Sommerfrische”! We first went there in 2021 for the Lehár Operette Festival. It is a quiet village which falls asleep at 10pm, but such a relaxing and beautiful place to stay with so many daytime activities on offer. Close to different lakes and plenty of hiking and cycling opportunities. Lots of culture and loaded with history. I will return here every summer for many years to come.

We went to the thermal after dinner and it was pretty empty (which was great!) note that you must be naked in the Sauna zone.
We had dinner at K.U.K and it was the best dinner we had in our trip
If you come at Winter, for breakfast I recommend to eat at the place you are staying because all cafes serves food outside... for us it was too cold. We ate at a hotel in the center.

1. With "Katrin Seilbahn" you can get a great view. Google Maps will tell you to walk to this place. However, you can get here by bus 551 from Bad Ischl train station. (Takes 10 minutes)
2. Taking a hot spring bath at "Eurotherme Resort" is also recommended.
3. Don't miss out on a delicious meal at "Umeko"

I highly recommend to visit Kaiservilla in Bad Ischl, it still belongs to the descendants of Habsburgs, well maintained, has great atmosphere and the tour guide there was just amazing. The Kaiservilla was featured at least in couple of movies (about Sissi and Ludwig II) and it really stands out compared to the visits to the other palaces and museums around the world, has some special personal touch and is of high historical significance.
Also Bad Ischl is a great budget base for visiting Hallstatt.
Amazing location and the hostel was so clean , tidy and of course beautifully decorated. The aesthetic sense of the owner is cool. The bed pillow blankets were so comfy . Neat n clean washroom with hair dryer and plenty of soaps and tissue paper. I would definitely stay there again as bad ischl is a super spot . I love the centre & lake.
Highly recommended Hotel - Garni & Hostel Sandwirt .
The Owner Lady and her son both were really nice .And they were nicely communicated in English as I couldn't speak German.
The apartment is well located at the heart of Bad Ischl, we had all the facilities we needed and felt quite at home. The bed is comfortable and the apartment is very clean. We highly recommend the place but with some earplugs to get better sleep. I only reduced one grade for the noise otherwise we were really happy with the location and everything else. The apartment is central but it also has its cons for hearing cars and people the whole night.
We stayed there with our 1 year old son and how they treated all of our family was excellent. They prepared a lot of toys, and also some other stuff (e.g. coffees, teas etc.) for us. We loved the terrace, just sitting there with a coffee or a beer and watching the mountains. The apartman is clean, tidy with a lot of different rooms, places, and it is just 5 minutes from Bad Ischl center, and just 8 minutes from the Kaiservilla.
An excellent location in the heart of Bad Ischl. Short walking distance to all must-do sights.
Plenty of eating options nearby from Breakfast to dinner.
Spacious apartment with comfortable interiors.
Helpful and friendly owner who handed us the keys and shared tips on the town.
Clean, large and well equipped Bathroom.
Well equipped kitchen for our basic needs.
An underrated Hotel in Bad Ischl great for groups of four. Comfortable beds and the buffet breakfast is really worth it. It's amazing that the hotel is understaffed but still manage to provide for and treat the guests properly without complaints. The reception and the cleaning lady deserves a raise for their best work 👌
amazing apartment, it was so good that we were questioning that should we leave the rooms or just enjot the hotel.
Views were amazing and it had all the comforts. The Apartment was spotless and couldnt have thought of anything better. Laura was extremly kind and very helpful host.
Angelika, the host was extremely helpful and accommodating. She drove us to the shops when we first arrived and down to the train station when we left. She also did our washing for a small fee. The room had a verandah with great views over Bad Ischl.
Very lovely, spacious villa, in 5 minutes walking distance from Bad Ischl center. Well equipped kitchen with all necessary facilities, 2 nice bedrooms and many other rooms for relaxation. Easy to get in. The city is amazing, worth staying a week.
Everything — room was newly-furnished, spacious, had a view of the mountains; entire hotel was very clean; hotel restaurant had good food; 6-minute walk from train station; staff were friendly and spoke English; reasonable prices
The apartment was right in the middle of Bad Ischl, close to everything. Our host, Mrs Chen, was amazing, helped us with all kinds of things including parking. The apartment was very big with 4 separate rooms, and 2 bathrooms.
The rooms are big and clean. We have everything we need for a trip. No idea about the breakfast. But we are happy with the service of the the Aparthotel Pan Haus
the rooms perfectly close to each other for us and our two kids. The location a walk from the city centre, a short drive away from a golf course and bad ischl.
Fantastic hotel with very nice design. Rooms are spacious and clean. Breakfast is rich and many different options. Wellness area and saunas are fantastic.
