Value for money in central location, comfortable bed and smart TV. Good communication via text with more like Air BnB than hotel.

I do the Ironman event each year. I plan to come back and stay for a holiday lots to see, I love the bats and the Botanical garden. The swim circle thing is excellent although has a strong urine smell near the facilities.
Lots of paths for cycling and the Barwon river has an excellent walking track all along. Great place for active people.
If you're into food then you're in for a treat, lots of cafe and restuarants offering a great range of quality foods. I had some delicious crepes on the foreshor.

Geelong city is a very nice place.
Geelong city is a very nice place. It has a long fresh air beach with a lot of seagulls flying around and basking in the sun. It is a city for people who love running and cycling. A city where you can come back to nature with many kinds of birds such as Cockatoos, Magpies...

I stayed the night as I was catching the Spirit of Tasmania early the following morning. I would have been very happy to have spent longer to explore Geelong. Where I stayed was very convenient, quiet and easy walking distance to restaurants.

The waterfront is lovely; Eastern beach has beautiful park surrounds that reflect an elegance of an earlier era; many restaurants with great cuisine; art galleries; the botanic gardens are delightful.

Melbourne without the crowds.
Melbourne without the crowds. There are some great restaurants and cafe's in Geelong but without having to deal with the crowds of Melbourne. If you want to go to Melbourne we got a train which was easy and comfortable and took around 50 minutes. Great wineries nearby and if you want a day trip Great Ocean Road or Otway National Park are within a couple of hours drive.
Well we clearly asked for a front water-facing room in the booking.com app. But they gave us a poor view room, on the side, where only apartment rooms were visible. I paid 390 something for this room to see the water from my room. However, the other hotels were cheaper by $150 and could have saved this money to spend somewhere else, may be in food and fuel.
I generally use booking.com for hotel bookings but i have seen if we make some requests in the app hotel staff doesn't value that request, this has happened to me a couple of times.
The R Hotel is the Perfect Location in Geelong close too many Restaurants and the waterfront the view from our room was Spectacular..Our room was Very well appointed with everything you need for a short holiday ..A lovely bathroom with probably the best shower I’ve ever had ..was extremely clean and well maintained ..The staff were extremely friendly and very helpful highly recommended this Hotel will definitely be staying there again …
Great stay. Close to the waterfront and centre of town. Beautiful appointed room and private parking a bonus. We came mainly to see our niece race in the Cadel Evans tour. Was pleasantly surprised by Geelong and surroundings. Nice cafes, restaurants, wineries, distilleries, walks and some beautiful shops in Torquay, Barwon Heads and Point Lonsdale. Good overal vibe. Will definitely come back for another weekend away.
The location is so central to the waterfront at Geelong, directly opposite Cunningham Pier and all the foreshore space. Undercover parking meant no worries about parking. A quick walk to the centre of Geelong and all its amenities, information centre and shopping, and the Botanical Gardens were great - well worth a look to see amazing bottle trees and cycads as well as ferns, trees and perennial colour.
We have stayed here many times over the past 6+ years when visiting Geelong. Great location for us. Pub/bottle shop next door, Woolies across the road, takaway pizza and Chinese food on the corner and only a few minutes to the train station and CBD. Always clean rooms with comfy beds. It's not the Ritz but at $130 you can't go wrong!
Clean, spacious room for a family of 5, friendly staff, hassle free check-in/out. Comfortable beds, a little soft for my liking, quality pillows if a little high profile for myself and the kids, hubby was very happy with both. Supermarket and takeaway within walking distance. Cheaper than other comparable rooms in the area.
An absolutely amazing property in a fabulous location in Geelong. Gorgeous views within walking distance to river and to heart of Geelong. Would stay again, but need to bring platters, sharp knives, dip bowls etc. Not set up like many AirBnB/rentals for the extra things outside of basic cutlery and crockery.
The motel is dated and you do pay enough for what it is, but the service is BRILLIANT the owners go 0utn0f their way to make you feel comfortable. The property is always very clean and nothing seemed too much trouble.
The internet speeds are slow but I think that's just Geelong for you.
Close to CBD, waterfront and hospital. All within walking distance. Instructions were clear with no problem. Fantastic to have a car space with lift access. Felt very safe and secure. The unit was modern, spacious and clean. Beds were huge. Great having a second bathroom 👍.
The location was unbeatable - right on the waterfront! It was great having off street secure parking available. The apartment was equipped with most everything you could need for your stay. Visiting Geelong was a pleasure - the waterfront is so family friendly.
The location is terrific, and the staff were very helpful. Breakfast was delicious. The room itself, is very spacious. Fantastic views of eastern beach and greater Geelong. The pool was a very welcomed facility as it was a very hot day, when we arrived.
The Motel was perfectly located on the edge of the CBD with room overlooking the waterfront especially the carousel and the bay. Location beside a bottle shop and hotel which had excellent dining was a bonus.
Nice clean rooms, good central area, nice staff and cheap breakfast in bed. Best middle to lower price motel I've stayed at in Geelong put of half a dozen at same price point. Thank you!
Modern fresh facilities, clean, plenty of included extras, pool was lovely, located in a large parkland and close to walks along the bay, lovely gardens surrounded the hotel
The property is really nice I liked that it had a living room are separate from the bedroom and the location which was ideal for visiting Geelong University hospital
