A perfect, unspoiled beach location.
A perfect, unspoiled beach location. The beach is safe and perfect for swimming, with sandbars and fishing. There’s a lovely old pier for strolling on.
Nice cafes that are affordable. The people are friendly and relaxed. Great fish and chip shops dotted about, excellent fresh fish.
The Bayswater Bar near the Pier has happy hour cocktails 3-5pm and really good $10 pizzas weekdays 2-4.30pm. It’s the best place to spend an afternoon overlooking the water.
The waterfront has an endless promenade, with picnic facilities dotted along it. Great off leash areas for dogs. Don’t forget to greet the locals as you pass by.

The whole Great Sandy Strait is utterly superb.
The whole Great Sandy Strait is utterly superb. Great restaurants everywhere along the Esplanade. Need to plant lunch well, as disappoint most cafes close by 1.3opm to 2pm...so hard to get a late lunch.

Nice for a short holiday.
Nice for a short holiday. Whale watching is excellent and so is a trip to K'gari. A stroll along the long pier is worth the effort. Beautiful views. The weather is lovely in Autumn but a bit humid in Summer. It is easy to drive around Hervey Bay even when there are a lot of tourist. There are a lot of choices when looking for a place to eat.

We stayed in Hervey Bay for two weeks this time for the first time. Unfortunately we could only get a week in each of two places. We have made the trip to Hervey Bay many times and stayed in different types of accommodations from Motels, a house and now resorts. Have driven from one end to the other many times and I love it all. I Have loved staying at the Mantra the best as it has a lot of conveniences in walking distance and the shopping center is not far, by car, if you want to dine in your unit. We did drive to the other end to the RSL for the special deal meal nights. The staff have been wonderful in all places we have visited.

Loved friendly inviting atmosphere, high end food cafes, so picturesque along the esplanade. There was so much to do and so many choices for families especially The Pier walk and Aquarium. Good variety of shops and easy access! Loved Eat at the Bay Cafe and The Beach motel for amazing food!!
Spacious, comfortable and clean apartments with easy access to a wonderful pool from all apartments. The complex was secure and quiet with many permanent residents.
The apartment was well appointed with a full kitchen and comfortable beds.
Near to the Hervey Bay Boat Club. We organised several boat trips through the Boat Club and they were fabulous. We also had a meal there and enjoyed drinks on the deck.
The resort is not far from the Marina which also has many restaurants and an art gallery.
Hi fellow travellers, well what can I say? If your travelling Aus and you are heading to Hervey Bay looking for quiet, friendly atmosphere that's clean and safe then look no further! This place is all that and more, talk about a budget holiday! Or perhaps you a moving and seeking fantastic accommodation while you survey the land without breaking the bank, I've only been here 1 week and as far as backpackers go this place stands out from so many others 🤠🙂
Last time we stayed at Hervey Bay we had an awful experience due to the poor standards at a large hotel complex. So this time we purposefully did our homework to make this visit positive. We loved everything about Akama Resort. The apartments are spacious, light and extremely clean. The on-site management were friendly, welcoming, efficient and helpful. The resort is in a great location and we were able to easily stroll to restaurants and to the boat club.
Location was excellent, on the Esplanade at Hervey Bay with an outlook to the bay, with a top class cafe on one side and a large resort hotel, bars and restaurant on the other. An easy walk to other shops and the famous Urangan pier. Room was very spacious and well laid out. Everything was spotless on arrival. Reception staff were friendly and helpful and resolved an issue with the Foxtel box and TV reception.
Surpassed our expectations considering the budget price, and the room was clean and comfortable. The onsite restaurant and bar were a surprise, we enjoyed lovely sunset cocktails on the deck overlooking the lake.
There was a nice grassy area with a picnic table outside our room, it was a perfect spot for our morning cuppa. Easy walk to the beach, Urangan Pier, and Botanic Gardens
All amenities were in good working order. Bit difficult to work out how to enter the premises. Very good layout, large rooms, very clean and neat. Good sized spaces , aircons, TV's ideal for families. Great setup. Whenever everything has been programmed and working what a lovely family apartment. It's a great holiday extended stay place and spacious.
We stayed in the 2 bedroom family apartment which was spotlessly clean and very spacious. Accommodation along the esplanade at Hervey Bay can be very noisy at night due to traffic noise, however the Beachside Motor Inn is well located in a quieter location. Check-in and check-out was very quick, parking within the hotel grounds was easy.
I was impressed. I usually stay in high end hotels and can be pretty picky. We were just passing through so it was a one nighter. It was quiet, Super comfortable, close to everything, overall very pleasant. I will be staying here again when I return to Hervey Bay
The host was lovely and helpful and allowed our small house trained fur baby to stay when alot of places in Hervey Bay wouldn't allow it. Bed was very comfortable. Nice linen and decor. Very clean. Property not too far to the esplanade and in a nice quiet street.
This is the second time we have stayed in this property. I have no hesitation in recommending it to friends and family in fact I already have and they are booking. It's quiet, clean, spacious, well equiped and not to mention great value.
A comfortable space with Bali vibe from decor. Very comfortable bed and the recliner lounge. Good parking and ease of access. Close to cafes and the hotel...good meals. We would likely stay here again if in Hervey Bay.
The accommodation was situated on the Esplanade in Hervey Bay. The room was a two bedroom apartment . It was spacious with two comfortable queen beds. We especially appreciated the recliner chairs and lounge.
3rd stay here and likely to continue to be accommodation of choice when travelling to Hervey Bay. Beds very comfortable. Apartments private and comfortable. Well equipped kitchen. Good sized bathroom.
excellent accommodation on Esplanade..close to restaurants/shops/beach..quiet rooms...comfortable beds & room was very clean...walking distance to pub & other restaurants
Everything from check in to check out. Always have a great time and experience when staying at Mantra Hervey Bay. My go to resort in the bay. Always feel at home there.
