We love Mossman as a quick stay on our way to the Daintree.
We love Mossman as a quick stay on our way to the Daintree. The Woolies is great to re stock, we had pies from the lovely organic dough pie shop and were excited to be traveling through on a Saturday as Mossman markets are one of our favorites (and we’ve visited a few!)

Mossman is actually closer to the Daintree and Cape Tribulation than Port Douglas, but Port is a very short drive away to be able get to reef cruises and activities there.
Mossman is the old town, still with elements of 'country', check out the Exchange Hotel (there is a Woolworths on the edge of town - I wish they'd hide it behind large trees) and a regular market every Saturday (10.00 am - 1.00 pm) in the historic church grounds.
It is not overwhelmed by tourism, but the surrounding areas have B&B and accommodation options.
Mossman Gorge is an amazing upland rainforest experience.
You get one of the mini-busses from the Visitor Info Centre (every 15 mins until 5.30 pm) This takes you to the walking trail. The first part is boardwalk, then an easy bush trail in a circuit.
The forest is spectacular, very relaxing to see & hear the water of the Mossman River. Sit on the seating or a rock near the trail and wonder at the profusion of life that fills every space.
TIP: Take a towel & wear swimmers, as there is a rock pool about 2/3 of or the way along the bush trail with clear fresh water, safe to wade & cool off in.

Recommend Mandy and Chris' Mossman Gorge B & B.
Goodies Cafe is a nice place to have a snack or lunch. Owners and Staff are pleasant and friendly and the food is good too.

I was originally more interested in Mossman Gorge and proximity to Port Douglas than actual township of Mossman. Regardless, I did enjoy a lovely morning tea of coconut cream pie at Temptations Cafe. I also visited the local Art show, where I purchased beautiful hand made felt shoulder bags as presents for family members. Judy at the Library was extremely helpful in assisting me. The shopping centre is well serviced and provided ingredients for dinner back at the B&B. The rain trees, on entering from the North, are remarkable with epiphyte cardiganed arms welcoming one.

would have been helpful to have had approximate distances on gorge walk. Seemed longer than advised, many turning back without knowing how far they had walked.
Good information boards
The location is perfect. It's 15-17 mins drive from Port Douglas. And 5 mins from Mossman Gorge. The property itself was beautiful. Our room was great it had everything we needed. And the view of the rainforest is postcard perfect. Mandy was really great. She helped us plan our day trip to the great barrier Reef and other lookouts and spots around Daintree, Cape tribulation and Mossman Gorge. Would highly recommend for anyone looking for accommodation around north of Cairns.
Mandy and Chris were wonderful hosts. My room was spacious, clean, comfortable, and had lots of natural light & air. The shared spaces in the house were wonderful - particularly the outdoor deck/breakfast area where you look right out onto the forest and all the local birds & fauna. Very peaceful and gorgeous stay. Mandy made delicious breakfast every morning and was super personable, kind, and informative in every other regard. I loved staying here
Great location in the centre of town and just off the highway. However the Motel is quiet. Has a restaurant at the front but was closed when we were there. Pool looks OK but didn't use it. Owners were friendly and gave me a call in advance to arrange contactless check-in. I would recommend this motel to anyone stopping off in Mossman and going to the gorge.
Everything about our stay was perfect and far exceeded our expectations. The view is spectacular, the beds and rooms were very comfy and the location is perfect to visit Mossman Gorge and the Daintree. Mandy and Chris were so informative about the local area and were incredibly accommodating throughout the trip. Don’t hesitate to book here!
Great little cabin, very private with no adjoining walls set in beautiful gardens. Excellent location on main street into Mossman. Easy walk into town. Clean room with comfortable furniture and bed. Pool was excellent. Didn't use guest kitchen but was good to know it was there. Off-street undercover parking.
This B&B is an oasis. It feels like you’re sleeping in the middle of the rainforest. Mandy and Chris are also wonderful, knowledgeable, and helpful. Mandy gave us a great recommendation when our original GBR snorkel tour fell through. So close to Mossman Gorge and a very easy drive to Port Douglas.
Well tended grounds. Everything looked fresh and well looked after. Nice communal areas with breakfast lounge, BBQ and lovely swimming pool. Good layout and location. Within short drive / walking distance of shops etc. Mossman Gorge also short drive away!
Fantastic location. Lovely setting. Great place to base yourself for Port Douglas, Great Barrier Reef, Mossman, Cape Tribulation and the Daintree. Great value. Lovely unobtrusive hosts who will also help out with any local knowledge.
The villas are comfortable and nice, the location is great if you want to take trips to both Draintree and Port Douglas. Short enough drive though I wouldn’t try to be out here without a car. Mossman is nice too.
The cabins surround a garden and pool. A camp kitchen is off the office. Its like being in a caravan park but no vans. Very well set up, enjoyed our 2 nights. Cabins are spacious.
Good value for money. Staff were very helpful.
Half the cost of similar accommodation in Port Douglas so worth a 20min drive. Mossman Gorge was fantastic and just nearby.
Very clean and quiet. Just loved we were about 4km to reception at Mossman Gorge and very close to Town. Staff were awesome at these Villas. Loved our stay here.
