Quality Inn Waddling Dog, hotel in Saanichton

The Quality Inn Waddling Dog is located on the southeast corner of Vancouver Island, just north of British Columbia's capital city, Victoria.

I loved the feeling of being in what appears to be an old mansion. I also loved the fact they are pet friendly and served breakfast.

Saanichton Waterfront 2BR suite with superb views, hotel in Saanichton

1.9 miles from Lochside Waterfront Park Beach in Saanichton, Saanichton Waterfront 2BR suite with superb views features accommodations with access to a fitness room.

Rani and Aram have a beautiful waterfront home with a private downstairs with its own entrance and a vast view of the sea. There are stairs down to a nice rocky beach, a lawn that hosts bunnies in the morning, plenty of outdoor seating, and just a pure sense of elegant restfulness. The beds are fabulous, the two bedrooms are ensuite and at opposite sides of a very comfortable lounge with leather sofas. They offer a coffee bar and microwave, but we didn't use them—the area has so many healthy, creative restaurants that Rani will tell you about. The location is near Butcharts, provincial parks, hiking, boating, and northern ferries to smaller islands. I would move in in a heartbeat. They are lovely people and we were disappointed to be so busy playing we didn't take more time to visit. We had such a good time!

This was a lovely place in a great location - far enough...

This was a lovely place in a great location - far enough from noise, crowds and the bustle of a city hotel, but close enough - a very short drive in fact - to reach these places. We visited the Butchart Gardens (a 10 min drive) and went whale watching in Victoria - slightly longer of a driver but certainly easy to do as part of your day. I don't have any negative comments about the location or the accommodation.

The room I was given had a step down as soon as you entered the room before you could turn on a light. There was a sign on the outside of the door - saying watch your step - never did I think it was a step just inside the room at the doorway - yes I did fall a few times - not hurt but could have been - really a dumb/stupid entrance to a room!!! Secondly, nobody at the motel told me at check in or ever that the room was ONLY serviced once every 3 days!! I went to the desk to complain when I had no coffee for 2 days - that's when I found out - unbelievable!!!

The host and hostess, Mark and Carolyn were so interesting and we enjoyed chatting and visiting with them. Each morning we had a "gourmet" breakfast. The room and bathroom were very spacious and comfortable. The whole experience was wonderful and relaxing.

Saanichton and the whole Saanich Peninnsula are great places...

Saanichton and the whole Saanich Peninnsula are great places to travel. There are many walking trails up small 'mountains', lovely forested park areas, lakes and the ocean. There are eagles and great blue herons to watch and photograph, often deer and their fawns in the spring (drive slowly--below not above the speed limits. There are several botanical gardens, some that cost money to enter but several that don't. Great restaurants to suit every taste & mood--Thai, European, Indian-- seaside elegant & forest cozy, good bookstores and art stores as well as local markets with lots of local crafts. Cars, bikes, & buses get you around over fairly large areas.

A nice little area within Victoria city limits, which allowed for exploration of the area's both within the city and nearby without having too drive to far in either direction. I highly recommend not staying at the Super 8 though.

The staff were very friendly and the inn has a great look and feel. They did a good job preserving the history of the building. Breakfast was included (continental as well as sausages and eggs after a certain time). It's about a half an hour cab ride to downtown Victoria and a little over 10 minutes away from the Victoria airport. You'll need to take cabs or use a rental car to get around to the attractions in the area, but it is less expensive than many hotels in the downtown area.

Super clean, quiet room on the back of the property. Although the property was full we never heard anything ! Front desk called after we were settled in to ensure we were happy with our room etc. Great genuine customer service ! We chose this hotel because it was dog friendly and we are so happy we did. The yard had a pet friendly area equipped with bags and a trash bin. Looking forward to returning to this property!

Lovely hotel, pet friendly, excellent customer service. The room was charming and breakfast was very good. They have a pub on the property and we really enjoyed our lunch there. There's also a liquor store in the same building, so very convenient. The location is right by the highway and there isn't much to do in the area if you are on foot. We had a car, so it was perfect for our needs.

What a beautiful and peaceful location! Loved swimming in the pool, playing fetch with the dogs, and breakfast overlooking the water and forest with mountains in the background. So quiet at night falling asleep to the garden fountain. We enjoyed hiking in nearby John Dean Park and kayaking in Brentwood Bay. And of course Butchart Gardens are not to be missed.

I was very impressed by the cleanliness of the room, by the friendliness of the Front Desk Agent, and by the very convenient location between the Brentwood Ferry and the Airport. Moreover, this was probably the first hotel/motel that didn't charge extra for my dog. I will be back-and-forth to the Island and will certainly use this Motel for my next trips.

Nicely kept rooms , comfortable for your basic needs not a good location but not complaining as it was cheap. However the coordination between booking.com and the hotel staff is completely broken and there’s No coordination at all ! It created chaotic mess for many guests and the reception phone is never answered . Need to improve many folds .

Breakfast was in a brown paper sack due to COVID. I got to choose what I wanted and it was very good. As for the location, it was a nice drive to where we drove to like Victoria, Butchart Gardens, around to see Vancouver Island. Had a wonderful time seeing the country sides in Saanichton.

We were up too early for breakfast, but the hotel had everything we needed. The beds were comfortable, the kitchen was extensive, the bathroom was a bit small, but overall the room was great. The staff were friendly and helpful. All in all, it was much better than I expected.
