Prices for food are affordable even though this is a placee where normally foreign people stays, breakfast is really good, sea water is not the best (muddy water) but beach is really calm, perfect to relax, read a book or get a tan.
On weekends there is a live DJ on friday and saturday so be prepare for the noise.

This hotel is beautiful. Set on a farm in the lush greenery, close to the river. I enjoyed walking to the river to kayak and swim. You can easily get to the beach too. We saw toucans and so many beautiful birds just sitting by the pool. It is relaxing and feels like a luxury home. Loved it!

We paid the same price for a double room with an en suite for 2 people as one night in a 23 bed dorm for one person in El Rio. Feels like a hotel/ guesthouse and is super clean and comfy. Can either get a Moto taxi to el Rio in 4 mins or it's about a 25 min walk. We still spend the days and evening in El Rio for free and came back here to sleep. Totally recommend and don't worry, Moto taxis are still available all night. Room had Aircon and a TV

Large secluded beach for long walks. Good food. Nice bar. Lovely place for couples, families or friends. About an hour walk on the beach (passing several hotels and hostels) to the mouth of Buritaca river where lots of restaurants and bars can be found. About 20 mins walk to the main road where buses between Santa Marta and La Guajira pass. About 10 min moto taxi ride from the center of Buritaca.

When you enter you get an electronic bracelet and everything you order automatically gets added to your bill - we loved it, we felt like we were in an all-inclusive hotel (just we paid for everything at the end). There are activities and tours you can book through the hostel, we did the tubing (they have twice a day) and it was cool.
