The location and views are stunning. We upgraded to a suite and it was well worth it. Food was great the coconut rice is to die for. We enjoyed it so much and we cannot wait to be back. They were accommodating with our 3yo son and that was important to us. AC worked well. a 3 nights stay is idea to truly enjoy the place and lean back into relaxation and farniente.

Isla Tijereto, hotel in Isla Grande

Facing the beachfront, Isla Tijereto offers 3-star accommodation in Isla Grande and features a garden, terrace and restaurant.

The staff was simply amazing; extremely welcoming, warm, friendly and fun! The also have a dive center at the premises, which made it very comfortable to organize some dives during our stay there; the diving team was equally helpful and friendly. The accommodation (as described) is very rustic and spartan. But if you are fine with that, then I would recommend this place and the island in general for a typical Colombian Caribbean experience :)

Rosario EcoHotel, hotel in Isla Grande

Rosario EcoHotel features a restaurant, bar, a shared lounge and garden in Isla Grande. Featuring family rooms, this property also provides guests with a terrace, and outdoor patio dining area.

Lovely views, super friendly and helpful staff, amazing sunrise, free access to kayaking, laid back vibe, access to nature. Our room was beautiful and spacious, liked the concept of not having a roof and having palm trees above. The luminescence night tour organised by the hotel was a good experience. The night boat ride to the “enchanted lagoon” was magical.

Hotel Cocoliso Island Resort, hotel in Isla Grande

Located in Islas del Rosario, a 1-hour boat ride from Cartagena, Hotel Cocoliso features a restaurant, an outdoor pool. The resort offers panoramic sea views and free Wi-Fi in public areas.

We had a truly superb family holiday. The staff were excellent and very patient with our poor Spanish. There was in fact always someone who spoke English and they couldn’t do enough for us. Highlights included kayaking in the fascinating enchanted lagoon and great snorkelling in front of the hotel. The food was excellent too.

Loved the quiet and elegant boutique hotel vibe.

Loved the quiet and elegant boutique hotel vibe. The hotel was full of really lovely interesting guests and the staff were really welcoming and attentive. We loved our stay there as quiet interlude to the fast pace of Cartagena. If you're looking for party vibe then Coralina is not for you (head to Bora Bora). If you're looking for beautiful island shabby-chic luxury then Coralina is perfect.

Incredible place to rest, away from the tiresome sellspeople that crowd Playa Blanca and Barú offering from massages to wrist bands. Here you can actually REST, and do whatever you want to do, snorkeling, kayaking reading. Even work, if you must, the wifi connection was great at the hostel we stayed. You can easily walk the island or do a round trip vía Kayak (3-4 hours aprox). The Mangle are really beautiful and that's a nice tour to have. The little village of Orika (1500 ppl) is really nice and peple are very kind with tourists. There were 2-3 restaurants that I can remember, but none looked tempting so we stayed with the Hostel restaurant for health sake. No need to improvise. :) It's a small island perfect for introspection and sea sports as mentioned before. I'd say it's a mandatory visit if you go to Cartagena (hey, you can even sacrifice Playa Blanca without loosing too much, if you must prune a few days of your stay), but definitely try to visit the island. We travelled with 3 kids aged 16, 13 and 12. and 3 nights at the hostel hit the spot for them. More would have been a little too much for them.

This is the furthest island and honestly there’s nothing to do here. Specifically at this hotel, there was only two lawn chairs where the sun actually reached and the rest were always in the shade. And the two that were in sun were always occupied. The one time we did get to sit in them, the dock it’s on was not sturdy or secure. In fact the board under the chair broke as my friend was laying in it!! And the chair leg went towards the water. The hotel itself had no beach so you had to walk 20 minutes to get there and it was not easily accessible by any means. All the other beaches were private and you had to pay for. They offered theee excursions - I can’t speak to one. But the other two were scams.

It felt really remote but with everything you needed (be prepared, no A/C. The Caipirinhas are FANTASTIC how they make them. Kayaks pull up with cocktails from outside vendors. Adds a fun element. Most nights they offered something to do after the day trippers left.

This is an island that is completely run for the profits of the beach resorts who cater almost exclusively to the day-trippers from Cartagena. This means that if you are not in one of these resorts your access to much of the island is restricted. For the most part, there are no evident access points into the interior of the island from these resorts and we found ourselves entering through service entrances to try to get the coast, or a bar and were often found trespassing. Some of these resorts are more welcoming than others and some charge an entry fee for non-guests. However, many of these resorts don't seem to have overnight guests and, therefore, shut up shop after 4pm so there is little-to-no evening activity on the island (and no street lights, so make sure to have a torch with you) There are some fun and interesting activities to do on the island - enough to fill a day, but the limited access when staying there meant that we were very ready to leave after two nights.

    Great for relaxing.

Great for relaxing. Warning to all those who love the ubiquitous and annoying Colombian music - no music is allowed in any part of Coralina Island! You will enjoy the silence, the sound of the sea waves and the chirping of the birds. The owner of the hotel, a French-Colombian named Pierre, is a wonderful person. Thanks to him, his kind nature and willingness, we felt like we were visiting a good friend or family member. Barbora, a Czech living in Colombia.

We had an amazing stay here! Isleta is very quiet and laid back, with some good options to spend the day at the beach at another hotel 5 mins from this one (for example Coralina hotel) while staying and eating at this way cheaper accomodation with good and clean rooms (more like huts). It even has a deck with nice sun beds to go into the water from, you could easily spend an entire day at this accomodation itself as well.

The host, Jorge, was fantastic. The rooms were clean, big and very nicely finished. Each has a Bose portable Bluetooth speaker to use around the property. The private spaces for the hotel guests such as the pool area and on top of the roof of the rooms were really nice. The setting itself is amazingly beautiful with pelicans flying around and diving for fish in front of you as you watched the sun setting. Simply stunning.

I had an amazing stay at the Rosario EcoHotel. My room was big, with a huge and comfortable bed, overlooking the sea and literally 5 steps away for it. Only have good things to say about the staff... very polite, kind, helpful and always with a smile. They also are actively involved in campaigns to neuter the stay dogs of the island (seems a big issue throughout Colombia unfortunately), so help with a donation if you can!

Fantastic place to stay at for a few days. Nice clean bungalows with beautiful view of the sea. Clean and cute beach with great food and drinks. The wifi was reliable and the staff was also very friendly. The hotel offers nice day trips around the island for snorkeling and diving. Just what we needed to finish off our trip to Colombia, 2 days of rest and relaxation in amazing surroundings.

    - we were the first ones dropped off on the boat from Cartagena - Room was very spacious - Decent beach at hotel - Fried fish lunch was delicious (not included) - Breakfast also tasty (included) - good location kinda in the middle of the island Tips: down load the app All Trails and download the map for the island ahead of time. Google maps doesn’t show the walking trails or directions

Staff were lovely . Food was really delicious and great value . The beach was small and most people dismiss it , but for me it was perfect because it was so peaceful , often I was the only one there. Unlike the neighbouring hotels . I was in an upstairs private room overlooking breakfast room, and it was very quiet , no problems with neighbours or music from the bar

Location was very easy to get to when arriving from the boat and the room was very clean and spacious. Several beaches are a 3 minute walk away and there are many activities that you can do through the hotel. The hotel is run by a family and is very kind - I forgot something on the island and they helped get it back to me in Cartagena.

Location, cleanliness, price, vibe. Activities were excellent and reasonably priced. But the snorkeling is even better 100 meters directly in front of the hotel than the excursion. Just rent the kayak and go out there yourself, I also recommend avoiding the weekend, if possible. There is loud music from neighboring properties.

The only good thing is that after an accident because their not appropriate manteinance of the facilities, they help us late in the afternoon to get a boat and taxi to return to Cartagena, obviously not for free as super expensive price, but at least we can return to the city and attend the emergency

The Staff is very nice, the private beach in front of the Hotel is very good although it can be very loud if there is too much boats with loud music in front of it. The good thing is that they all leave around 3pm so you have some hours without day tourists at the beach.
