The staff were amazing.
The pool area has so much potential but it's constantly covered in leaves from the trees above. Even if they cleaned it 3 times a day... They are constantly falling back in 😂

After 1hr of driving off road it was an experience driving into this lush greenery of a place! Beautiful area where you hear the jungle come alive after 5pm! Our family had a great stay here, our mother in law wasn’t a big fan of walking up and down for meals on these hills but seeing all the animals on our walks made our day.

Muy bien el hotel, la piscina un poco deteriorada.
There is no reason to go to Liberia. It’s a transit point: to lovely beaches to the west; mountains and jungle to the east; and the Nica border to the north. That being said, the Chinese restaurant & the Indian restaurant (Masala) in the center of town were both very tasty! The international airport, which is close by brings in tourists traveling in the north of Costa Rica.

The streets are not marked so you can have a hell of a time finding your hotel if it is relatively small or unknown. It is close to a market where you can have breakfast. it is convenient to the airport.

We had to go all the way downtown for a bank machine.
We had to go all the way downtown for a bank machine. Information, such as bus scheduling was non existant at the station. You had to find someone who was familiar with the buses. There's not a lot of reason to stay in Liberia. It's more of a "stop off" due to the airport. Most eating places are downtown. There's not a great selection outside the core. Liberia is not a tourist friendly city.

Liberia is a good place to start traveling around Guanacaste...
Liberia is a good place to start traveling around Guanacaste and the Pacific northwest of Costa Rica..A good place to arrive as the airport is not as busy as San Jose. There are stores, including a large Walmart where you can get supplies. But I would not stay in the city except for 1 night when flying.

Liberia isn't a tourist town.
Liberia isn't a tourist town. It does allow you to see real Costa Rican life - which is the best part of travel. We walked all over town and always felt safe. It is also better to stay here than further north because you can catch tours that pick up travelers in Liberia.

I really enjoy Liberia.
I really enjoy Liberia. The downtown area by the park has lots of shopping. I went into a pharmacy and they had a free dr. who quickly diagnosed my problem and prescribed a medication that worked very well. There is a family run laundry with a half day turnaround. I really enjoyed a restaurant where the ceasar salad was made in front of you. It is two blocks from the main intersection on the right hand side of the road.
What would be very useful is a map of the city. We asked locals for directions and they were very helpful in directing us to what we needed.
Hotel Santa Ana is close to the airport in Liberia. It can be a nice place to stay just one night.
Location: Perfect
Reception: The older gentleman is polite and nice. The credit card payment works fine. He charged me $2 more than the price listed in Booking.com? Is it possible that the US dollar and Clones changed?
The room was clean.
TV worked fine.
AC was fine.
The shower had hot water.
The bed had two pillows.
The younger guy that works there was also helpful. Almost everything needed some help from the hotel people!
It is safe.
The home is located in a nice residential area of Liberia. It is clean, spacious and the rooms have AC! Melvin is a friendly host. The location is in close proximity to the airport. A small grocery store is a five minute walk, a bus stop ten minutes, Walmart fifteen and the city centre twenty five minutes. I would definitely stay again if I go to Liberia.
It is a three minute walk to the pick-up place for the excursions we did. We were the last ones to be picked up and the first to be dropped off at the end of the day, which was great. Wonderful pool, hot tub and small pool and a great breakfast. Plenty of places to dine nearby and the hotel had a nice restaraunt as well.
Clean, good wifi, AC works great, near the airport, safe! Completely enclosed area shared with one other unit (2 story duplexes connected by private laundry), nice garden, secure private parking. The hosts live across the way (culdesac, so private!) And are super nice, helpful... We will stay here whenever we can!
Very modern and clean hotel, close to the airport and away from the craziness of town. We didn't want to drive in the dark as our flight arrived in the afternoon so we picked this hotel and will definitely stay here again. Really good ice cream place, brewery and sandwich shop within walking distance.
The breakfast was fresh and authentic. The staff were beyond friendly and made us feel like family. It was the coziest little oasis conveniently located near Liberia city, Rincón de La Vieja park and if you’re interested in visiting the beaches in guancaste you can make a day trip out of it.
Great value hotel located near the airport with a well kept pool and garden. The rooms were large and comfortable and great for a one night stay. We ate dinner and breakfast there and had no complaints. Would recommended if you’re needing a hotel before a flight home.
We stayed here twice when we were passing though CR to get to Nicaragua. It is super great, close to the airport and the best hotel breakfast we’ve ever had!!! The family who runs it is sooo sweet. We will stay here everytime we pass through Liberia.
Nice cabins on landscaped grounds. Lots of birds around. Seemed secluded even though you're just near Liberia. Air conditioning was nice. Patio was cute with umbrellas of turtles. Breakfast included and was very good.
The restaurant was packed at the same time because the hotel was booked out with a ton of guests meant to leave from the airport that morning but the food was great and the waitstaff was so patient and kind.
Simple hotel as expected but close to airport which was what we needed. The rooms were very clean, everything was. We arrived very late after a long drive but the front desk were unfazed and helpful.
Large rooms, quiet AC, well equipped gym and giant pool. Breakfast is way better than at other nearby hotels. Price per night is very good, considering all the hotel offers.
Lovely owner and staff that are very helpful. They even organized a nice trip to a beautiful river nearby Liberia. Stayed twice in the hostel and had good experiences.
The member of family are friendly and the hotel is located near a lot of places, the prices is acording with de accomodation but I think the breakfast isn't good.
