Hakuna, hotel in Playa Azul

Our time in San Juanillo was good! Thank you Mauricio for this great service and recommendations; the room was super comfortable with all the facilities you might need! We were staying on the second floor; with the open kitchen and chairs if you want to have a cup of coffee in the morning 😊The beach is 5 minutes away from the property by car 🚗 the beach is empty during the week with blue water and clean sand; in the morning it might not be easy to swim because of the low tight; after 3 pm is the best time!

Treetops B & B Inn, hotel in Playa Azul

Set in San Juanillo in the Guanacaste Region, Treetops B & B Inn features a sun terrace and views of the sea. Guests can enjoy the on-site bar.

The cabana is the perfect private rustic getaway from the plugged-in keep-up-with-the-Joneses world to slow down reconnect with nature and loved ones. The location had amazing access to a pristine beach and the property itself is a little wildlife haven. We were birding from bed! Karen’s cooking was the best we had in Guanacaste and she went out of her way to accommodate my gluten intolerance by making delicious homemade gluten free breads and muffins that satisfied and impressed! Jack and Karen are charming, a pleasure to talk with and are an amazing resource for information on Costa Rica.

Green Sanctuary Hotel, hotel in Playa Azul

Offering an outdoor pool and a spa and wellness center, Green Sanctuary Hotel is located in Nosara. Free WiFi access and free private parking are available.

Absolutely loved the place. Cute little gardens between the apartments. Place was clean and to my surprise pretty specious. Breakfast was just a nice plus. I really loved the deck for yoga which really is between the top of trees. The pool area was quiet and we were there almost all the time alone which was also very nice. It felt like it is there only for us :)

Living Hotel, hotel in Playa Azul

Offering a sun terrace, swimming pool, and lounge area with a thatched roof, Living Hotel is 5 minutes walk from Guiones Beach. Free WiFi is available in all shared areas.

The staff are incredibly friendly. I loved the pool area and the yoga studio. I loved the vibe of the entire property and it was in a fantastic location. I was able to walk pretty much everywhere I wanted to go. The beds were comfortable and the shower had decent water pressure. If I visit nosara again, I’ll 100% book at living hotel.

If you're looking for an 'out of the way' place to stay and relax, you can't do better than this place. The pool is fabulous and has a swim up bar, and both restaurants had excellent food. The grounds were beautiful and well kept, and the staff was absolutely fabulous, even calling us by our first names by the second day. The room was very comfortable, the bed was great, the shower was superb (good water pressure) and the A/C worked like a charm on those humid, overcast days.

We ate at the hotel for most meals - food was very good!

We ate at the hotel for most meals - food was very good! I would go back for a private, romantic weekend. Pool is beautiful and while there were a few games I really wouldn't recommend it for a family vacation. Definitely better suited for adults.

There is nothing here at all apart from the hotel.

There is nothing here at all apart from the hotel. The beach is lovely, but so are lots of beaches all over Costa Rica, and many have little places to buy a drink, or some food. If you are staying at the hotel and just want to go for a walk it is great, but definitely not a destination beach imo

    It's an amazing place.

It's an amazing place. The beach is too dangerous for young kids, but there are other nice ones nearby. To get there, you need a transfer of a tuff car that can handle dirt roads. We made a few trips nearby and if you plan to go to Nosara, be sure to have an experienced driver and a car that can cross rivers (4x4 car). Besides that, the place is just astounding in all aspects. Wifi is fast enough even for a heavy data user like me. The swimming pool is great, and the barmen are always available to do some fancy cocktails.
