First, we got an email in English with very specific directions to get to the hotel by bus or by taxi. We also got a WhatsApp message the day we were to arrive, confirming that we knew how to find the hotel. Our first room had a problem with the lock, so they kindly moved us to another room. When we extended our stay, we got a spacious suite and free breakfast. The beds were comfortable, the Aircon worked well and the showers had good pressure. The staff was so helpful and friendly and served breakfast with a smile. The hotel is literally across the street from the beach with numerous eating and shopping places just minutes away.

Very attentive staff. Love the fridge in the room. Parking available though off site, so a bit of a project. A/C worked well. Hot water showers. Tiny pool with good hang out area. Attached restaurant is very nice and convenient, though the food was only meh.

It's just too crowded and the air is very polluted. If you like big city life then you'll like Salinas. But if you want a place where you can just relax on the beach, this is not that place. Beaches are VERY crowded, lots of background noise. Honestly the air pollution here is horrible for a peninsula. It smells like Newark, New Jersey.

Even though the address of El Faro is technically Salinas, it's really about 8 miles from the city center, and my only excursions into town were for dinner. I had no complaints about the quality of the food, which is generally excellent, but Salinas itself has very little charm, since it's more of a beach community for people from Guayaquil. If I return to the area, I will make a point of heading further north on the coast, to slightly more remote, quiet places (NOT Montañitas).

I didn't see anything of interest here.
I didn't see anything of interest here. Beach is very mediocre. Trust me skip this city and try somewhere else. I went to Manta and it was much better.
i didn't find Manta to be overly exciting but it was much nicer than Salinas. I thought the Salinas was not nice at all- no nice buildings, no fancy restaurants etc.

I didn`t like Salinas at all, but lot of people does, so it is just my point of view.
For me it is a place without soul, dirty town with depressive streets, but luxury buildins on the coast.
I liked small villages like Machalilla or Montanita much more.

Salinas shouldn't even be called a beach city.... the beach part is very small and crowded... so you feel like you are in the city... people dress and party like they are in the city.. It's just not worth it... you have very nice beaches down the spondilus route... and a lot of food.. and way cheaper than in Salinas... I almost never visit there, because I don't feel "outside of the city"...

Salinas was pretty much what we expected for a beach town in SA. People were friendly and the sea food was great. Outside the beach area you will see a lot of poor people and a lot of garbage all around. Something about the South American countries that bothers me is people throw garbage everywhere?? It broke my heart to see all the stray dogs around. I collected left overs from the restaurants after we ate and went to the beach to feed them. All in all we loved it and would come back! The beaches are beautiful!
This hotel is very centrally located and the bar area has a lot of style and character. It has a shower to get yourself clean before going into the room which is great. It includes breakfast but we opted for eating out at a local restaurant instead because the options were limited even the premium ones. I have to admit that while the town of Salinas was not happening when we were there you can tell this could be a fun place to stay to meet people, party etc.
The hotel is situated in a tiny private jungle right on the water. The grounds are full of interesting plants and free roaming tortoises, peacocks, monkeys and more. Wander around and find your perfect spot for reading or socializing. There is a concrete staircase that leads down to a small sandy beach. The hotel offers a complimentary breakfast and also a menu for lunch ($10). The room was comfortable and clean. The staff were very kind and helpful.
The apartment was perfect for my family of 6 (five adults and an adolescent. It was clean, comfortable, and well-equiped. It's two blocks away from Chipipe Beach and a 10 minute walk to Salinas Beach. We made most of our meals in the apartment, and the kitchen had everything necessary. We bought groceries at mi comisario, which is a 10-minute walk from the apartment. For those who choose to eat out it's an easy walk to bars and restaurants.
This is a comfortable place to stay, very clean, well situated, close to the beach and many restaurants. The on site parking is secure. The staff is friendly and helpful. I would stay here again next time I go to Salinas. Oh did I mention the hot water? Plenty and good pressure.
Centrally located Chescos might be the best low budget hotel on the entire southwest coast of Ecuador. The room was spacious enough, the shower had hot water and the staff was friendly. The A/C worked like a charm. The location was superb, right next to the beach.
The location is great, walk outside the hotel and the beach is right there across the street.
20 minutes walk to other restaurants and grocery shopping and amenities etc.
The staff are great and the grounds are well kept.
On the other hand, the hotel staff is quite friendly and helpful, big applause for JOSE, on the night shift. Always attentive, friendly and polite, with a smile and prompt solution for any requirement.
Wonderful place. Great staff. This place has a bar with a great bartender out front, along with a hammock and lots of chairs and tables. It's the only place like it in Salinas. Beach is right there.
There was a discount on the breakfast but there was a large selection to choose from. They had a small pool which was usually filled with kids and young teens. The hotel restaurant had good food.
Pretty much everything, loved our room, location, safe, clean, fairly quiet neighborhood.
Excellent onsite staff... We will definitely stay here on our next Salinas trip...
large / confortable appartement with stunning view on the ocean and the bay, very friendly and helpful staff. Good breakfast with view on the sea and cheerful music 😀
