Breakfast was good, as much as you can eat, parking is secure but at a cost, 9 euros a day. The room can feel very small, but for us it is only for one night.

All good, and the restaurant on site was a great bonus

The old feel of Bayonne! The uneven floor of the old building. The quaint room decor.

Bayonne is a beautiful little town, absolutely adorable.
Bayonne is a beautiful little town, absolutely adorable. There are loads of nice restaurants and the people are very friendly. There are also a lot of nice little shops, and the market Saturday morning is lovely. You can walk everywhere, but there are also little buses you can ride for free. The rivers in the center are impressive and beautiful, and you can stay looking at the water for hours, especially when the tide water comes up and goes down.
We also took a lunch and afternoon trip to Guéthary (that a server at a bar recommended us), a tiny little town by the sea. Beautiful and really nice food.

Bayonne (Baiona) is a lovely town, very Basque.
Bayonne (Baiona) is a lovely town, very Basque. Great restaurants, and handy for the road south into Spain. BUT: parking is an issue. If you are staying in the centre, the station car park costs upwards of €14. If you like a couple of glasses of wine with dinner... otherwise it's a taxi at similar cost.

Very beautiful, authentic and preserved medieval town in the Basque Country of France. The downtown area is small and bisected by a river, it doesn't get much prettier than that. The food scene is fantastic, with plenty of Basque and French options - I'd recommend Les Tontons Flingueurs, and PATXAMAMA. Also, try the chocolates there, they are amazing! (L'Atelier du Chocolat, Chocolaterie Puyodebat). The ritzy beaches and charming old town of Biarritz are just a 15-minute drive away.

The atmosphere around city helped to make a very enjoyable stay ,both sightseeing and visiting bars and restaurants. A bus/tram has improved greatly link between Bayonne and Biarritz allowing visitors to spend time on beaches without actually staying there.

We only stopped during a trip from Northern France to Portugal. We didn't see any of Bayonne. We chose the hotel as it was just off the motorway and good for quick access back on the motorway the next morning.

A friendly and inviting city, great food and drink, and people. Something for everyone.
One thing to note, I would avoid visiting in December, it really rains every day.
Stay in Bayonne, Visit the beaches in Tarnos, Ondres, or if you like a bigger crowd, Biarritz. Summer is the season to go here. Early fall is nice too. Good base location to see the Pyrenees, and the beaches.
Beautiful old basque building in the historic town with easy access to tourist sites. Bus stop close to hotel with regular buses to Biarritz town and Airport. 1 bus stop away from Bayonne train station or an easy walk.
Our room was spacious with a comfortable bed and modern bathroom. A kettle and hairdryer were provided in the bedroom. An easy check in after reception hours.Nice breakfast served by friendly, helpful staff. Restaurants by the Riverside at close proximity..
To be able to stay in a private home, on the river, in France was a dream come true for me! The hosts were perfect --welcoming, helpful, thoughtful, but unobtrusive. They seemed as if they enjoyed their role. The boat was lovely; my room included a private patio with full view of the river and the steeples of Bayonne. The full breakfast, beautifully served out-of-doors, included everything a sojourner needs to start the day.
Everything! The bed was comfortable and a good size. I loved how the toilet was separate from the shower and mirror area too. More hotels should do that. And the location was perfect. A quick 10 minute walk from the train station to arrive and close to the centre of Bayonne and all the bars, shops, restaurants etc. We'd definitely stay here again.
I stayed at over 30 hotels on a cycling tour of France (June 2022). This was by far the best place I stayed. Beautifully clean. Everything you would need for an extended stay (kitchen - kitchen utilities). And wow what a view. Right in the centre of this beautiful town. We could have just looked out of the window and 'people watched' all day.
Hotel is directly across from the Bayonne train station making it very easy to find and access. Staff could not be more helpful; they were very friendly and polite even offering to make us a coffee upon our late evening arrival. Room was very quiet and had a lovely view of the square and church below us.
It's a hotel full of charm and character right in the middle of the narrow streets and laneways of Bayonne. I really enjoyed my stay here for one night. I didn't have breakfast but the dining area looked interesting. Perfect location for exploring Bayonne.
Good hotel for a quick 1 nighter. I was here for less than 12 hours. The check in was really quick & the check out was super convenient. The receptionist was really nice. In the room, the shower pressure was amazing & the bed was comfortable.
Really convenient for the town and the Rugby ground. Friendly, helpful staff, pleasant environment and great food.
The wine at the bar was very reasonably priced and not the usual huge hotel markup. Also far too smooth and easily drunk 🍷
nice hotel, close to city center, 10 min walk. we booked a suite and it had 2 rooms and was very spacious. hotel design is modern and light. dinner in the restaurant was tasty. hotel also has a big and spacious parking outside.
Right smack in the centre of Bayonne. Location couldn’t be better. You can park outside to offload, before moving the car to nearby parking. Staff were fantastic!
