The staff was pleasant...however I did not like that Booking.com showed me a reference for an unchangeable, nonrefundable stay. I had a previous problem with this from Booking.com, one that made me want to cancel my entire account and warn my friends and circle about Booking.com. I originally booked this stay for an interview in Merignac that got cancelled...the hotel staff was MOST unwilling to accommodate my request to cancel and be refunded. I was really disappointed that the staff of the hotel did not want/ could not facilitate my request. I have had another property refund me due to unavoidable changes on my end (flight cancellations, etc.) so I am quite disappointed with the attitude of the staff in being so unwavering and unempathetic. Especially as I have made numerous bookings via Booking.com and I am no newbie. Shame for such a large hotel to behave this way! Please be careful when booking via Booking.com as they can set you up for uncomfortable situations when travelling and something unexpected comes up. Make sure to ask for a kettle for your room incase you need to make tea, we asked for some tea (they gave us two teapots) and it was 15 euros for that.
