Breakfast was good . Staff friendly. Room was dirty, very tired ,carpet very thin stained . Bathroom not very clean, mould all over a lot of tiles in shower, which was poor pressure and on the receptacles holding soap and water glass at the sinkWe had to inform staff we had no hot water ,the boiler pilot light was out??. It was rectified, but didnt get properly hot. There was just very untidy look to the whole place ,stuff lying about etc. I wouldn't stay again. It could be great if refurbished.

The property owner’s mum, Marie, greeted us with the key and any information we needed know as soon as we got there. She was so helpful in letting us know restaurants in the area and any questions we had!
Abbey (the owner) is exceptionally aware of asking whether we needed a twin/double bed for our stay as well as making it ready for the time we were arriving.
Facilities were perfect for the night we were staying for! Really nice shower, comfortable beds and a nice little coffee/tea area with everything we needed including some biscuits which was a nice touch. Lots of leaflets and taxi numbers as well which is good if you’re going to go out somewhere!

breakfast is lovely. my kids love it. it was really quiet place, relaxing. it is near the Alton towers 10-15 mins away.
A small, yet quite lovely little place. The thing that makes it is the people. Everyone is so friendly and welcoming, a great place!
There isn’t an abundance of shops and if you want a quick and cheap bite to eat there are a few weatherspoon/hungry horse type of places around.

A cute village feel with some lovely history and quite a few cute shops. Plenty of choices for take away food locally and our host had thoughtfully left these with our personal welcome note, which was a lovely touch.

We stayed near to Alton Towers, and it was a short drive to the resort. Alton Towers is in the middle of nowhere, and signage sometimes led us part way, and then just stopped. The SatNav lost signal, and Google Maps saved the day. We had a fantastic day - it was our granddaughter's 4th birthday, and her first trip to a theme part. We were lucky with the weather, so couldn't fault anything. The queues for the rides weren't too bad, and as we brought picnics, we didn't need to wait for refreshment.

Booked a hotel in Cheadle as it was close to Alton Castle where we were visiting. Had a meal in the High Street which was fine but not really too much else to do in the area although there is much beautiful countryside if you are a rambler/walker!

Only stayed here overnight enroute to Alton Towers.
Only stayed here overnight enroute to Alton Towers.
We weren't impressed with the restaurants there, The Wheatsheaf closed the kitchen early as they ran out of food! By the time we walked to the Hungry Horse they'd also stopped serving food so the only alternatives were takeaways but we had no cutlery to eat it at our guest house - not ideal when you have a tired 5 year old with you.
Other than that fine.
Abbey was so helpful and attentive without being intrusive. Nothing was too much trouble. The accommodation was spacious, spotless and well looked after. The pub across the road was really convenient and nearby Cheadle was a lovely place to wander around and grab food. Highly recommended. A great place to stay to access this part of the Peak District.
Clean room, warm Stokie welcome, very comfortable bed, excellent location. Set on the edge of town, modern room that's great value. The bed is large and comfortable, bathroom facilities clean and modern. The whole room is a lot nicer than some four star plus boutique hotels we've stayed in ! Well done Abbey.
the room was spacious and well equipped. the staff were polite and knowledgeable of the area, recommending us a good place to have dinner. the breakfast was very good quality and overall I would recommend this hotel to anyone staying in the local area.
The location was perfect for my training based in Cheadle High Street, and the house was not far from the local shops, restaurants, etc, all conveniently within walking distance.
Plenty of parking on the street is available.
There are not many hotels that include breakfast in this area, and this hotel does include breakfast. It was a surprise that the breakfast was cooked by the owner , it was really delicious!
● Very welcoming hotel/pub with staff that are lovely and willing to help as soon as you walk in the door.
●Staff were helpful when we went down for breakfast -lots of choice to have.
