Vincy and Andrew the duty manager were really professional, Vincy even offered to help me and my daughter pack our stuff after Andrew authorised over the phone to give me the full refund so I could leave.
Didn't stay in the hotel so can't comment on anything else.
This is definitely not a 4 star hotel, not by any standard. Well not in my experience anyway.
Spa use is included from check in to check out for guests enjoying a bed and breakfast, or dinner bed and breakfast package. Spa use is not included at any time when booking a room only rate.
Located just 3.2 kms from the city center of Chester, this 3-star country-house hotel is set within nice grounds.

Lovely spacious room, comfortable beds friendly staff and lovely breakfast.
Room was just what we needed for the night after friend's wedding. Staff were helpful with organising a taxi for us. And no disturbances from any outside noise

High standard accommodation and exceptional staff. Cooked breakfast was well prepared and presented. There were also a good selection of cereals, fruit and croissant.

Dinner was lovely but pleased I paid for bread at the start and extra vegetables as the main course portions would have been too small. Hotel is beautiful and breakfast was very good. Service was fabulous
The rooms were very cold. It was minus six overnight and below freezing during the day and our heating went off when we were out of the room. Therefore when we got back it was freezing cold in the room and the heater was not an adequate size to heat the room. We were very dissatisfied.

Communication was terrible ....
Communication was terrible .... I had booked a room there specifically because BOOKING.com said the hotel was pet friendly.
the booking on the website confirmed the hotel was pet friendly.
i was informed on the day that the hotel did not allow pets in the executive suites ( so why was I able to bok it when i was looking for somewhere pet friendly )
the two options when i was looking to book were this place or the local travelodge for £ 48.... i chose to pay the extra to stay somewhere nice.
then ended up having to stay in the travelodge anyway and paying £150 for the privilidg

This is a unique hotel.
This is a unique hotel. It is not part of a large chain so it benefits by being unique but it also suffers from the marketing and maintenance strengths large chain hotels have to offer. We would like such an individual hotel to thrive as it has a special personal feel. It needs further investment and attention to detail on maintenance. We loved the bar, the candles on tables and the music playing. Chandeliers in entrance and mirrors were divine. Huge potential to make into a 5 star boutique hotel!

Character, staff friendliness, attention to quality of food...
Character, staff friendliness, attention to quality of food and location make this a "return to" hotel. Indeed I have. Had a sandwich supper on arrival and a bespoke breakfast. Food very good. Not the most salubrious (decor in need of a bit of attention) but free parking and a quiet ambiance make it attractive. It's not a 5* urban chain hotel (a bit quirky) but I would recommend.

The peace and quiet of the Hotel and surrounding area.
The peace and quiet of the Hotel and surrounding area. We ate at a Vintage Inn about 1.5 miles away. Hotel quite expensive for food. Handy for Chester, Chester Zoo, Cheshire Oaks Birkenhead and Liverpool

Beautiful setting in older settings. This is not a modern hotel. That is the wonderful charm of the place. Beautiful characterstic rooms, reminiscent of an Agatha Chrsite type story setting. Exceptional food, breakfast amazing, hot and plenty of it. Staff very friendly and kind. Nice games room with books a plenty and wonderful atmosphere. Decor charming and traditional. Room comfortable, warm enough and inviting. Lovely view of gardens and grounds from the window.
Clean good sized room with good sized ensuite facility. Reception were very responsive to my query about excessive music noise of neighbour which was rapidly resolved. Hotel was close to main transport links but not noisy in that respect even though windows were always open as it was in a very hot few days weather.
The hotel is very nice with a beautiful log burning fire, and we were upgraded to a suit on arrival. Both our evening meal and breakfast were equally as nice.
Where the hotel excels is the staff, I have never meet a friendly group of staff in any hotel I have stayed in, in the UK or abroad.
Clean smart hotel
Good atmosphere in bar
Lovely breakfast, wonderful poached eggs
There was a private party when we stayed and unfortunately our room was above the function and the music kept me awake until 2am. Was just surprised that as non party residents we were so close to it
We attended the area for Open Golf Championship so hotels were at premium prices. The Brook Catered for use exceptionally well> we even had a whirlpool bath in room. A wedding venue that also catered well for its gusets a thumbs up for me...
It was excellent value for money. We really enjoyed our time there. A boutique hotel with a touch of class. Outstanding service and food was exceptional.
