This was our favorite hotel during our stay In the UK. The staff made us feel at home and the hotel restaurant is fabulous, one of the best meals we ate during our trip. We will definitely be back again

The camping pod was really cosy and clean, much roomier and more comfortable than I expected. The pods are really well kitted out with kitchenware and home comforts, which is perfect for a solo traveller who can't carry too much with them. Lovely little coffee/tea hamper provided and the hob was really easy to use.
The pods are warm and well lit, with a great little decking area to sit out on into the evening.
Very comfortable beds and bedding, plenty of towels in the shower room and all the little extra things you might need have been thought of.
I would highly recommend the Scallows and would love to visit again myself one day.

So much history. Loved the buildings, the motte and bailey castle, the priory remains in the park, the independent shops and cafés. Everything is within walking distance. Great to have a railway station and Brighton only 9 miles away. Superb views and walks over the South Downs.

Interesting county town.
Interesting county town. A few things to do inside there (eg castle and priory, Depot cinema by the station). Or excellent transport links to coast (Seaford preferable to Newhaven unless you want to catch the ferry to Dieppe) and Brighton of course. The self contained area of Downs to the east are my favourite. Quieter than the main range of the Downs to the south so you can just roam around and enjoy the peace. Or you can walk along the river as far as Newhaven but this can be quite muddy when it's been raining. Beautiful flat walk though if you go when it's dry, or don't mind mud!

I lived near Lewes from 2000 to 2005 so know the area. Am fond of the Riverside area with its eating places, also the High Street. Perhaps not a huge amount going on, and perhaps the "Information Centre" could be
done up/revamped a little more, but the town is in an excellent central location for a holiday spent exploring locally.

Lewis is an old town full of interesting history, lots of old buildings and of course the castle that's always worth the walk up the hill, don't worry if you're not too fit as you can get a local bus to the top of the hill. Lots of wonderful pubs and cafes in the town centre along with some nice restaurants. The town is surrounded by stunning scenery all around.

I stay in Lewes frequently for visits to Glyndebourne.
I stay in Lewes frequently for visits to Glyndebourne. The local taxi firm (GMC Taxis) are very good and are prompt when picking up at the arranged time both to get to Glyndebourne and to return.
The town itself has much to offer with interesting shops and historic places including the Castle.
Hotel accommodation is very limited since the closure of The Shelleys and Pelham House. Parking is expensive

HOWEVER DO NOT STAY AT PREMIER INN !!!!!!!!!! THEY ARE A TOTAL JOKE AND NOTHING LESS THAN DAYLIGHT THIEVES WHO NEARLY DESTROYED MY WEDDING WITH 2 MISTAKES ON OUR BOOKINGS.
The Dorset on the other hand is a Lovely place to stay and would recommend it to anyone whishing to stay in Lewes.
Great location in centre of Lewes and car park just up the road at very reasonable cost. Facilities at property above and beyond and the host was extremely helpful when we had a small emergency just before my sons wedding. Thank you Sarah, very much appreciated.
Location is amazing in centre of town and near all restaurants and pubs and places of interest.
Thoroughly recommend this property for a short stay.
It was a lovely welcome, very clean, deluxe, comfortable, great products, high thread count bed linen, warm, cozy and tastefully decorated. Small kitchen and private living room was ideal and the ease of being in the heart of Lewes was so convenient. Vicky was so accommodating and responsive. I highly recommend and would stay again in a heartbeat!
absolutely beautiful spot, quite absolutely everything you could need in the pod and outside, fire pit/bbq is a total vibe. excellent communication in advance of arrival. the pods come with your own outside bathrooms which is only accessible to you with a key and is more well finished and clean than half the hotels I’ve stayed in
Location is convenient for Glyndebourne.
Early check-in was arranged and was honoured
Room is clean and well supplied with towels, toiletries and hospitality tray.
There is a heated towel rail. There is a hair dryer. There is a fan if the weather is hot.
The hotel is unstaffed and access is by a previously informed door code.
Lovely character oldie worldie hotel in the heart of Lewes close to everything with on site parking.
The staff were faultless, very friendly and vey helpful.
Our suite had everything we needed, very spacious, nice bathroom, lovely comfortable bed, well ventillated with all of the sash windows open.
Really clean and very comfortable house, spotless organisation by the host. Ideal if you want to relax. The location is convenient, out of the way but close enough that you can walk everywhere in Lewes. I really value how well and worry-free I felt after having stayed 3 days, thanks!
Lovely, quaint and cosy space. We loved our stay here and Simone has provided a beautiful space for a getaway. The 'best brownies' were very much appreciated and we ordered a cooked and continental breakfast which was all delicious and plentiful. Would happily stay again.
This hotel was in a fantastic location for us being on the main A27 and our son is at Brighton University. Ideal to go into Brighton, Lewes and Brighton Marina. Nice size room with comfy beds. Shame the pub is not open at the moment as this would have been even better.
Large, cosy, and clean room with private bathroom across the landing. Excellent location in the centre of Lewes convenient for train and bus station but still quiet. Kay was very welcoming and provided a good healthy breakfast, including fresh fruit and juice.
Location great, continental breakfast had a good selection and they will make you fresh toast. Very friendly staff nothing too much trouble, food delicious, I would definitely stay again.
Spotlessly clean and well equipped. Excellent, central location for everything in Lewes, less than 10 minutes walk from the station. Hosts are friendly and helpful.
perfectly proportioned! So delighted to have a cooking space whilst away. Loved the little touches such as the pictures on the wall in the bedroom (see attached).
