The whole experience was beyond expectation. We had an upgrade for the room and had a wonderful suite. The meal in the evening was exceptional if a little expensive. We enjoyed the guided walk in the gardens in the morning.

The room configuration that was promised on Booking.com wasn’t available but the hotel staff promptly remedied it with another solution. Beautifully handled. Also the staff recommended a wonderful
Pub for dinner that involved a stunning walk through the village and across the lock. Excellent local suggestion that made our stay.

Super comfortable, very large bed. Spotless bathroom. In fact everywhere was spotless.
The building itself was lovely, particularly the courtyard and breakfast looking out to the river and gardens.
Staff were charming and efficient - all staff, from reception to bar. No wait to checkin or leave. Liked the peaceful location outside the madness of Oxford in summer - 15 minutes to Westgate to park in the evening.

if you want to lose yourself and enjoy time with loved ones,...
if you want to lose yourself and enjoy time with loved ones, family or friends just book it. the hotels and the staff look after you so you can enjoy the experience and your company. I've been twice now at 2 locations and its one of those places that I couldn't tell you without really thinking much about the actual place, however, I remember the feelings and memories in the hotel and that's why it's so memorable the details then fill in. Not many places you can say that about. Hopefully that makes sense :p
Very expensive for what it is. Room not cleaned to a high standard with a ceiling mounted tap causing a smell of mold and dampness as it leaked into the padded ceiling. Receipt wouldn’t even call us a taxi, just gave a number of a firm who were a lot more expensive than the one we found on google. Good breakfast but all in all a poor hotel.
Breakfast was basic, service unbelievably poor, the room was on a main road junction despite it being an expensive suite in a countryside hotel, no facilities in suite to make a hot drink and room service didn’t show up despite calling and ordering!
The hotel was as crazy as portrayed in all the media comments I have read. Staying here was an experience. The quirkiness of the hotel was refreshing after so many boring box rooms and bland designs!
If you are attending an event at the Crazy Bear Hotel you couldn't pick a better location. It's walking distance so you can enjoy the evening there and go back to a comfortable and very clean room
Staff were very welcoming and helpful. Hotel is beautiful, outside bar and terrace was lovely. Dinner was exceptional, breakfast, more than enough with the Continental selection.
The hotel is quirky and fun!! The staff couldn’t be more helpful, friendly and welcoming. We were impressed with EVERYTHING! An exceptional hotel and the food is to die for!
