The cost was the cheapest in the local area without paying for breakfast. The staff were polite and car parking was ample with little walking distance. The "area" was quiet with no ambient or foreign noise protruding from outside.

Our trip was specifically to visit the rural levels and also to catch up on a friend in the area. We did not visit Wells on this occasion so can't comment specifically. However if you want to be well situated to explore the area Wookey Hole and its hotel is a good place to be. Locally there is the Ebor Gorge within walking distance and road access to most of the area is accessible although you must be happy driving on some narrow roads. Hotel is definitely not luxury but is clean and convenient with excellent staff. Good value for money if looking for convenience rather than luxury.

We visited Wells Cathedral, which is an absolutely stunning place, the staff are very welcoming and the donation system is very reasonable. The only thing I would say is if there is anyone with Auditory sensory issue, check if they are cleaning the organ before going in as this did dampen my experience not knowing at the time. The library is up a set of s prial stairs so not accessible, however if you have someone willing to run up and take some pictures, it does look like a wonderful place.

Wells is a beautiful, small city, dominated by it's immense Cathedral. We very much enjoyed both. We spent time within the Cathedral, enjoying it's beauty, a service, and a concert. The shops and restaurants were varied and good, and the market exceptional. The Bishop Palace Gardens were our final treat with it's restful water gardens. All in all an ideal short holiday destination.
Wells is magical and having the view of the cathedral like we scored from both rooms is a rare treat. Single room is actually quite spacious, only the double room was tight, but this was understandable. Bathroom was modern and very clean, double room had a large closet, and a small table with chair. Our check-in was a breeze,- we were helped with our bags without asking and parking suggestion worked out very well. Our interaction with members of staff was pleasant.
Sarah, hotel owner was fantastic, couldn't do enough for us. Even made her washing machine available to us.
Terrific room, tastefully decorated with extras. Great bathroom, clean and functional.
All staff in hotel were welcoming. Parking was an issue but made easy with staff assistance.
Easy walk up to market square and stunning Wells Cathedral
Wells city is beautiful, UK smallest city more like a market town ,with lovely architecture and a cathedral , Mendip hills very close by for walking .
Hotel is very quaint , made up of the main gatehouse to the cathedral square , food in restaurant excellent , surprised only 2 star ,probably because rooms small .
We both loved it .
Everything you could think of was provided. It was a beautiful apartment right in the centre of Wells. It was spacious with lots of personal touches which made it very comfortable. My sister and I often stay at The Swan Hotel in Wells but this apartment will now be our first go to when booking further trips to Wells.
The hotel is very well furnished and right in the heart of Wells with a view of the Cathedral from the front. The parking is good; the staff are very helpful and there is plenty of indoor and outdoor seating areas. My bed was very comfortable and the shower was good. Very good room cleaning service.
Right in the centre of Beautiful Wells. Nice mattress, room was well decorated, historic, huge and well appointed. Clean and lovely walk-in shower. Staff friendly and helpful. Great touch was a book in the room about the history of the pub as it has a long history including as the Town Jail.
Burcott Mill is a beautiful Mill House in a quiet setting in Wookey.
Our suite was beautifully clean and most comfortable. The breakfast was delicious with a good choice on menu.
The hosts were a charming couple and most helpful. Highly recommended.
