Breakfast was scrupmptious. We only paid a flyng visit as we were attending an event, so it was just a one night stay. Would love to come again and stay for longer. It really was a fantastic location with stunning views out to Bantry Bay, and our hosts could not have looked after us better

Neidin is the Irish word for Kenmare and translates to Little Nest. A Little Nest is exactly what was envisaged in 1790 when The Lansdowne first opened its door.

Exceptional service and location, rooms are very roomy. There is nothing we could fault about our stay.

The hotel has a beautiful location but I'm afraid to say it disappointed me for what was a 70th birthday gift to my mother.
Starting with reception, we were met by the most unfriendly receptionist who had little to say in terms of a welcome or be of extra help. Similar can be said for her manner on checking out. Not a position for someone who has an attitude and is the first to meet and greet paying guests.
The corridor floors to the bedroom were dirty and not vacuumed for the 2.5 days we were in the hotel. Bedroom was small, shabby and basic. Bathroom although renovated, will become run down if not cleaned thoroughly of soap scum and mould in the shower which are becoming evident. A cigarette butt was in the lift for 2 days. Cob webs were visible in the lobby and on corridors.
On checking in at 3pm, the unfriendly receptionist advised when I asked, that there was no bar food being served until 5pm. When we returned at 7pm there was no table in the bar with the only alternative being the restaurant.
Generally my experience of ECCLES is that is over rated, completely over priced and in dire need of an urgent face lift and a good deep clean. Credit to the young people in the breakfast room and restaurant who were cheerful and courteous and also kudos to the ladies in the Spa who are a breath of fresh air.

A lovely little town, with pubs and restaurants featuring excellent local seafood. The Bamboo Park is one of a kind in Ireland and well worth a visit. The Glengarriff Nature Reserve offers a variety of scenic and peaceful nature walks from the leisurely "River Walk" which is great for dogs as well all the way up to 4km longer hikes.

This hotel is in a very convenient place, for the many sights we wanted. Parking was easy which is always a bonus.
We ate here on the second night my husband had duck he said it was truly great. My meal was faultless. We did not want breakfast, so we could get away for the day & have lunch on our travels.

Beautiful village with great pubs, music on the streets and good places to eat. A trip to Garnish Island is a must, a great experience. Fabulous country side around the Ring of Beara, Schull and right through West Cork. Only wish i had longer there.
Staff were highly efficient, friendly and obliging. Food was excellent, both dinner and breakfast served in very pleasant and relaxed locations with very efficient service. The room was very clean, the shower was completely accessible even to elderly travelers and there was more than ample free parking. This combined with the location of the hotel in the centre of Glengarriff made it a perfect location which really punched above its weight as a three star hotel.
The location is a little beyond the town of Glengarriff, but I enjoyed the seclusion and the mountains surrounding it. I also enjoyed walking into town, since it is a beautiful walk. The breakfast was delicious! It is not included in the price, but you can order it for an extra cost. The host is an actual chef. Both Host and Hostess were friendly and accommodating and went above and beyond when I needed help with an issue.
Before arrival The Eccles were very good and confirming that we could have a twin room and one that would give easy access for my elderly mother. Also the options for the spa treatment were easy to book in advance. Any questions put to the hotel via e-mail before arriving were answered helpfully within a few hours.
Jovanka and Alec are extremely welcoming and hospitable hosts. The Black Sheep is clean and comfortable, sits right on the bank of a beautiful river, and has the Glengarriff Nature Reserve as a backyard. Glengarriff itself is a charming little village, the surrounding area of the Beara peninsula is gorgeous!
We spent 5 days hill walking in the Beara peninsula. Glengarriff was a great base and Firhouse Holiday home was an ideal place to stay in Glengarriff. It had plenty room for a group of active people, a quiet location just outside the village and also in easy walking distance.
We went to Glengarriff for a friends wedding and Rugged Glen was amazing! Mary & Chris were beyond accommodating and the breakfast was beautiful.
The room was massive and very clean, quiet and warm-- the bed was very comfortable also.
10/10 -- Would definitely recommend.
The most incredible food! The vegetarian option was sensational and we would travel there again just to have dinner. The hotel is just on the outskirts of the village so it is lovely to walk in for some afternoon drinks.
The apartment was spotlessly clean and spacious. Claire was incredibly helpful and easily contactable. The attention to detail was excellent. The apartment would be a fantastic base to explore West Cork from.
Lovely clean accommodation, Leo/staff also very welcoming and breakfast excellent as always with plenty of choice. Would recommend to anyone visiting Glengarriff and surrounding area its in a great location.
Imelda the owner was lovely, very friendly and helpful. the location was perfect, on a little road just behind the Eccles hotel. Very nice breakfast with a choice of cooked dishes.
The house was in a great location for exploring west cork. Being in the village of Glengariff meant the teenagers could come and go to the village by themselves.
