Exceptionally helpful and welcoming staff. Our bicycles were safely stored in the Bar. I think that couldn't happen if they were busy, but it was very accommodating of them. Our room was a bit small, but we knew that because it was one of the cheaper rooms. The location is right in the centre of Volterra with lots of places to eat nearby. The breakfast (€15 each) was outstanding with both savoury and sweet offers. There were tea and coffee making facilities in the room.

Volterra is a nice hilltop town with a few churches and museums. The shopkeepers are friendly and they have some lovely artisan products. There is a large outdoor market on Fridays when the whole place has a wonderful atmosphere. The alabaster sculpture are stunning and unusual. There are a couple of good supermarkets with tasty deli selections. It well located for visiting other cities and towns in Tuscany.

The villa was a wonderful place to stay!

The villa was a wonderful place to stay! The building was built in the 15th century but has all the modern amenities. Our host/owner Luca was so accommodating in every way. His staff prepared a delicious breakfast each morning with many varieties of local cuisine. He had even prepared a map and detailed itinerary for several day trips if we wanted to explore the surrounding towns and other sights. This hotel was an excellent find.

Volterra is a beautiful historic town and walking around the narrow streets feels like stepping back several centuries in time. Walking around the traffic free central area was a pleasure. We visited several historic buildings including the beautiful cathedral. Also some excellent museums with great collections and works of art. There are many lovely restaurants and cafes too which make Volterra well worth a visit.

We couldn't have wished for a better place than Villa Gemelli! Fantastic design, spacious, comfortable & well equiped. Amazing pool overlooking green hills of Tuscany! Willa is perfectly located in a close proximity to San Gimigiano and Volterra, also perfect as a starting point to further situated cities like Siena, Montepulciano or Pisa. Great, nice and easy contact with the owner, helpful and increadibly nice ladies looking after the property. Our group of friends spent there one of the best holidays ever. THANK YOU!!!

This place is another proof that you basically can't go wrong in Tuscany. Location is just amazing, in the dead center of Volterra, just a short walk anywhere in town. The room was large and comfy, and breakfast is just delicious. Staff is always smiling and ready to help. I particularly like that they have a room that you can safely leave your stuff if you check out early, and pick up when you leave town. Oh, and they also can point out where you can park for free parking overnight.

it‘s a splendid villa surrounded by unaltered tuscan landscape. quiet, spacious rooms, very friendly and helpful staff, authentic italian meals. they speak german and english fluently. it doesn‘t say it on booking.com but there are a lot of classes (learn italian, sculpting, photo, cooking) and they take about a week. loved the pool. volterra is 15 min away. everything is taken care of so in theory you don‘t have to live the grounds. great value for money.

The villa is located about ~15 minute drive from old town Volterra with a huge garden around it. The apartment we stayed in was very nice with a small kitchenette and shaded outside seating as well. There is parking at the location. It is very well situated to explore Volterra and the surrounding area or just to spend a day or two chilling in the garden or at the pool.
