柏屋旅館<シェアハウス&ゲストハウス>, hotel in Saku

Featuring garden views, 柏屋旅館<シェアハウス&ゲストハウス> in Saku offers accommodation, free bikes, a garden, a terrace and a shared lounge. The air-conditioned accommodation is 15 km from Honmachi Machiyakan.

This place was beautiful! Situated near Nakagomi train station in a mall area that is somewhat quiet, perhaps due to the after-effects of COVID, but still has lots of restaurants within close proximity. The staff were very friendly and accommodating, and easy to communicate with despite my lack of Japanese. I had a triple room to myself and it was a lovely, spacious room for a decent price. The bathroom is outside of the room but there was a sink within. The shower is downstairs but it is private. Highly recommend.

Saku is the more economical area to visit the general Shinshu area including Karuizawa and Asama. There are lots of chain restaurants, grocery stores, and convenience stores. Gas is slightly cheaper than in Karuizawa. Ski Garden Parada is a 5-10 minute drive away, and Karuizawa is about 30 minutes away, so access is great. The highway is also in an easily accessbile location. The shinkansen also stops here.
