I loved my stay at Hotel Torni. I stayed with my family, as it was cheap and we were only there for one night. But it was great. Huge room and bathroom, bed was super comfy. I was able to connect my phone to the TV and use free wifi. And had a simple but filling breakfast delivered to the room in the morning. You can notice features of a love hotel, however this shouldn't deter you from booking as everything was clean, discreet and can still be a great stay for a regular group of family or friends.

Toyama is probably outside of the usual tourist trips in Japan. I have been there for a working meeting. Anyway it is a pleasant and quite city, large enough to offer some amusements and definitely not chaotic. I would recommend visiting the castle and the seafront (the latter probably best enjoyed in summer).

I took the 6:28 shinkansen from Tokyo, then directly went to Mt. Tateyama. Finally arrive on the Mountain at 12 and spend the entire day there, went down at 16:15. Arrive in Toyama city around 7. The next day went to the glass museum of Toyama, grab a coffee, then directly went to buddha statue in Takaoka & Amaharashi coast. Just enough two day trip.

I and my friend spent 3-day vacation here (end of July).
I and my friend spent 3-day vacation here (end of July). We enjoyed so much fresh air and peace of the city (or it was because of the covid so there was not much of people visiting, idk) but it was ideal place for a getaway from crowded cities. We went to Tateyama and planned to visit Snow Wall (Murodo) so we bought the ticket for cable car to Murodo. It took about 2h for cable car and bus to get there, and as it climbed up to the mountain, it would be more foggy and cold so remember to prepare extra clothes, hats and shoes (it'd be better to have water-resistant ones and maybe you will also need a rain coat). Unfortunately, we could not observe any snow wall ecause it has already melted at this time and also the mountain bc it was too foggy. This was our first time so it was ok to challenge with a short trekking in raining and strong wind and get wet, but if you want to reach Tateyama top, it'd be better with extra-preparation of professional clothes.

Love Toyama city for the ample space, peacefulness and vicinity to great attractions. Halal food was a bit difficult for me, but since food was not my mainn priorit, Toyama was great! Will visit again in the future.
The Queen room design is certainly the best I ever found in an hotel with a wide desk, a well thought sofa position and a useful small individual table. It's spacious and compact at the same time. The double bed is big and comfortable with a twin set of lights pannels. The bathroom is equally well done with a deep bathtub and many body care accessories. The 4 elevators make the floor access very swift. The lobby is welcoming, tall and good looking at night especially, the staff very formal. Value for money is probably unbeatable in Toyama.
This is by far the best hotel we've stayed at in Japan. The staff are helpful and welcoming, with the no-shoes policy ensuring a clean hotel. They even cleaned the wheels on our suitcases because of the tatami floor. The onsen is great. They accept tattoos IF you can cover them up. So make sure to pick up free tattoo covers in reception. The room was great with a wooden bath. All in all, an amazing hotel mixing the old with the new.
The hosts were incredibly nice. I loved our breakfast time with them and the fun conversations. Iwase is beautiful and I highly recommend spending plenty of time in the surrounding area. It is such a gem.
This inn is easy to get to via Toyama tram. It's about a 30 min trip from the station including a short walk.
Thank you so much. We hope to see you again soon!
This family trip left a deep impression on me. The hotel is very near to the central train station, just about 6 mins walk. All the counter staffs are very friendly and the breakfast is delicious everyday. There are many beautiful places of interest and scenery in Toyama city. I am looking forward to going back Toyama next time.
Very good location. The day we arrived was raining, so we spent a whole afternoon in the same mall where the hotel sits. If you want to take the Nohi bus to Shirakawa-go, the bus station is just in front of the JR station.
The hotel staffs are so friendly and helpful. Definitely will stay there again if we go in the future
Convenient location right in front of the station. Staff is nice! We got delicious welcome cookies. Room is spacious, bigger than other hotels in Japan. Clean rooms and comfortable bed. Easy to move around since the tram is right next to the hotel.
Location is perfect, close to JR station, shops and eateries. value for money. Twin beds are like king singles which is rare in Japan. Will have no hesitation to stay again next time in Toyama. Well recommended.
The staff were very friendly and helpful. Additionally, the room was very clean.
Being next to the train station helped with not only travelling to the hotel, but exporing within and outside of Toyama
Good location. The hotel is clean. Even though the hotel isn’t located in restaurant area but not too far from Toyama station which is surrounded by restaurants. Room is big enough for two guests.
The stay in Iruka hostel was quite enjoyable and it is just near the Toyama station. The hostel was clean and design was really nice creating cozy atmosphere. The stuff was very friendly and kind.
Amazing location just next to the Toyama train station. Our room had a fantastic mountain view when we had a clear day. Hotel was extremely clean and the staff were very kind.
Though there were fewer choices for breakfast than I experienced in other Japanese hotels, what was provided was very tasty, and I really appreciated the fresh fruit.
Close proximity to JR station .hotel lobby at level 2 .
The Dentetsu station just below the hotel .
The JR station is big .
Very convenient to go the Alpine route.
