The room is very large and comfortable. They provide drinking water and toiletries. There's a TV but I didn't watch it so can't comment on the availability of channels. There's plenty of restaurants for good food, shops and atms nearby. The hotel is a 1 minute walk to the bus offices. The tuk tuk driver who offers tours here is great and is very reasonably priced. The staff are very friendly.

The interior design was very impressive, with authentic Khmer furniture. The AC was strong and the extra fan helped the ventilation. Water temperature was pleasant. And they have 2 very cute small dogs.

A relatively untouched area of Cambodia, still retaining colonial charm. It lives in the past to some degree, and is the antithesis to the mish mash of Phnom Penh development.
The riverside is still the place to stroll or even exercise, and the surrounding countryside is lovely, with nice views from some of the higher locations.
I ate at the homes of Khmer friends, and we had driven up from PP, so getting around was as easy/difficult as any journey on overcrowded Cambodian roads!

Not one of the top travel spots yet.
Not one of the top travel spots yet. Battambang town doesn't stand out as anything special compared to other places in Cambodia. It doesn't really have anything special, and is very dusty all around.
However, it is ideal for a day trip (max 2 nights) from Siem Reap if you have time.
There are unique experiences that are on the outskirts of town :
1/ Bamboo Train (touristy but still good enough. especially if you can manage to beat the tourist vans in the morning, then it's just you on the train (train ride is about 15 mins each way)
2/ Killing Caves (get there at about 4-430pm, stay for about 30 mins)
3/Bat cave (super cool experience, stay there only for about 30 mins max in the evening

Gave a good feeling of real-life in Cambodia, away from the tourist crowds. The town has a fine old french colonade along the river. Very beautiful. The local market is worth a visit.
Highly interesting are the temples in the surroundings, ex the Banan temple. A visit to some of the commemoration sites also outside the town showing the cruelty of the Khmer Rouge in the nineteen seventies, is a must not to forget what happended.

I homestayed with the O'hamok family - incredible real Cambodian experience. We toured at my pace, I have never experienced this level of relaxation throughout my travels. I only wished I could speak Khmer and or French so that I could have contributed more to conversations but we got by easily with english.
Incredible hotel in lush grounds, with excellent food and wonderful staff. The setting is authentic Cambodian style buildings set around a pretty lotus pond, with a good swimming pool and lovely gardens. Everything spotlessly clean. The elegant and charming Mr Kim and his wife run a very sophisticated yet unpretentious hotel. All the staff friendly and welcoming. We loved it all, enjoyed all the meals we ate there, and had a great day tour out with Rith in his tuk-tuk.
Great hostel with big double bed in dorm room. Super friendly staff who organised our onwards bus and full day tour of Battambang with a local guide called Yo who I cannot recommend enough for you to ask for him, he gives a personal account of the history of Cambodia while visiting the monuments, killing fields and cave, local food, everything. The breakfast at the hostel was also amazing and for only 3 USD you get a lot.
This is a small charming hotel with lush gardens. Rooms are individual bungalows with small outdoor spaces. If you are looking for a quiet hotel with friendly staff and a good restaurant, you will like this place. However, don't expect the wifi to work well in the rooms or for a fancy bathrooms. The rooms are very basic and rustic. The best part of this hotel is the friendly staff and the lush gardens.
The person in charge, actually the only person that night (it was NY's eve, to be fair) was absolutely lovely. But she was THE ONLY one around and couldn't do everything. The room and facilities in general are lovely. Lovely decoration and design and a great swimming pool garden. They didn't offer anything for NY's eve, which seems a bit of a shame for a boutique hotel.
We stayed just one night but the hotel is nice, the room was comfortable. It also has a beautiful swimming pool but we didn't have time to use it. The manager of the hotel was very friendly and helpful, he could speak good English, which is not that common in Cambodia. The location is good, in a quiet road.
Comfortable bungalow—large bed, mosquito net, private & super clean bathroom and a quaint front porch for morning coffee! Suvet and his family were super welcoming. We had a great BBQ with them that evening. Perfect if you are looking for an authentic Cambodian homestay. Highly recommend!
Staff were very kind. Location is the best. Really liked the hotel concept - you can have your own privacy in a small and single room while sharing an hostel. The hostel was also very clean and cute.
I extended my stay because I felt really comfortable 😊 I recommend.
Affordable hotel, in a good location. Basic amenities, like good shower with hot water, AC and wifi. Mattrass was softer than most other Asian hotels. They have upgraded some of the rooms, with a newer look and renovated bathroom. Friendly and very honest staff.
The staff were so friendly and helpful. This is a great hotel to get out and explore Battambang. It's not too far from town by tuktuk. The rooms were big and the twin had a privacy curtain. Would definitely stay here again if I'm in the area.
This was a nice hotel, fresh fruit on arrival was a lovely touch. The room was very large with a nice big balcony to sit out on. The pool area was ok, plenty of loungers but the pool had alot of bugs and leaves in it. Location was good
- good location near bus station and short enough walk from main part of town
- booked a tour to bat cave & bamboo for good price at hotel
- took an aircon room and definitely recommend, worked very well and it’s very hot in Battambang
Host was amazing, friendly and helpfull.
Hotel was perfect, big room, clean and everything worked.
Location spot on in the hearth of Battabang, short walk away from market. I would definitaly reccomend it
Best hotel in Cambodia.
The property was cute and charming. It has a lot of Cambodian details in their architecture which was nice. The location was in an area with lots of night life so you don’t need to go far for food or entertainment.
The hotel is a marvelous 1930s French colonial hotel. It has a fantastic garden with lush tropical plants and a lovely swimming pool. The staff and the food are both great.
the beautiful rooms and garden with the pond, the food, the service, the pool, the owners are very attentive and helpful. it is clearly the best hotel in Battambang.
Absolutely amazing family run hotel. Lay made us feel right at home and even brought us home made desserts! Best place to stay in Battambang- look no further!
Beautiful hotel in a peaceful but central location with exceptional staff. I stayed for 2 weeks on a work trip and it really felt like a home away from home.
