it's a great place to visit. the views are stunning in Sommoroy but also , travelling south of the island. it's a great place in winter to spot the Northern lights. we saw them almost every night even after a stormy day. we would love to come back in Summer time!

Everything was wonderful!
Everything was wonderful! The driver who met us at the airport was kind and helpful. He showed us things along the way and told us about the area, what we could do. The cabin was clean and well kept. The view was spectacular. The food was delicious, a little pricey, but delicious. We had a wonderful time. It wasn't their fault that the weather didn't cooperate. The family walked to town. It was close enough to walk to and far enough away that we didn't get light pollution.

A local company "69Nord Sommaroy Outdoor Center" provided an amazing Midnight Artic Sail with Hobie Kayaks -- the sunset was spectacular! The ferry service from Brensholmen to Botnhamn (Senja Island) was perfect, and it added much value and special memories to my stay in Sommaroy!

The remote island of Sommarøy at the north Norwegian Sea is surrounded by beautiful beaches and the environment is super relaxing. You could take walks around the island, or long bicycle rides and nobody is bothering you.

The hotel provides you with a map to show you the best areas to see them and other things to do - but honestly there's not much. We walked by the pier & went on the hills - it was a clear sky so we got to see so many stars until Lady Aurora finally appeared! Other things we liked: -Clean & comfortable -Views from the hotel are breathtaking -Modern facilities -Great breakfast with some good options

The drive onto the island was lovely even though it was snow/raining. The room was comfortable with a balcony and a good view across the small bay. Free hot drinks in the reception area was a bonus. It was very icy in the morning and the hotel had done a fantastic job of clearing/gritting the roads and walkways. The hotel also had an electric car charging point which we were able to use whilst we were there which was a bonus.

The breakfast was great each morning. Sauna, jacuzzi and other amenities were terrific. Couldnt have picked a better place - we rented a car and drove around the fjords in the arctic light. Everything was very clean and well maintained. Breakfast selection was spectacular, so many varieties from warm foods to tasty croissants and even selection of plant based milks. The location is perfect, away from the city, but within reach or some hiking options and of course the northern lights are clearly visible there.

The hotel restaurant is nice and not too expensive. The breakfast was very good as well. Don't hesitate to make the drive from Tromso if you can, the scenery during the trip is clearly worth it. We also saw reindeers besides the road and Northern Lights from a beach nearby the hotel. Very accessible to wheelchairs

The buffet dinner served on New Years Eve was fabulous, and the breakfast smoothies perfect. The staff were all so nice and very helpful. The rooms were basic but clean and comfortable, free tea and coffee in the foyer. We used the sauna which was nice, but not the hot tub as this needed to be booked in advance.

I was surprised the hotel had a lagoon, a sauna, shower, towels and a changing room with lockers. Directly south of the hotel, 3 min walk, is the most gorgeous beach in the world! It called me to jump into the freezing ocean, then I quickly went back to the sauna.seanUnited States of America
