Claire is a great host, we were greeted by their friendly little dogs. The couple has a real farm feel hospitality and are down to earth. Room is lovely and the bed was comfy with soft linen. Had some nostalgic chats about the good old days of show jumping. Really felt comfortable and at home. Actually missed staying here even if it was for one night... We will definitely return and stay few days next time...

The cleanliness and how the house was set out. Separate accommodation within the house. It was quiet. Robert was amazing. Not intrusive yet friendly and helpful. Good personality which is great for a B&B. Views to the paddocks and farm animals a plus.

Note you will have an upstairs bedroom, with the owners downstairs. There is a good shared bathroom and toilet upstairs. Only one other guest when I was there despite it being just before Christmas. This place will be a bit too out of the way for some people despite it being fairly close to Auckland and easy to reach. I love the windy road though the bush. It is a good base for exploring the Hunua Ranges and regional council-owned beaches which are beautiful but little-known. Note there are no shops at all nearby. Best to dine at the property with the owners and pay a little more for that. Breakfast price comes with the room.

Hunua Ranges is quite tranquil.
Hunua Ranges is quite tranquil. The regional park is a great place to go if you like the out doors. Then there's the falls and head out toward the coast and you have an array of east coast beaches.

We enjoyed our stay very much.
We enjoyed our stay very much. Travellers need to know that there are no shops or supermarkets within walking distance. The closest is a short drive into Hunua village. The Hunua Falls are a short drive away & are worth visiting. There are many walks to do near the waterfall. It's a peaceful place & the village is cute. It's so nice to stay out of the built-up Auckland area.

We were greeted by friendly hosts, shown to our downstairs ( ground floor) room and toilet facilities and offered refreshments. The tree lined property had an abundance of bird life and the cicada chorus was amazing. The room was enormous, two queen size beds, a dining table, lounge suite, tv and video with a wide variety of DVDS. After arriving back from our dinner we relaxed in the adjoining den with outdoor courtyard and enjoyed refreshments with our hosts. A morning wake up with a cup of tea was just wonderful, and completed a wonderful time.

Was a nice surprise package of South African in nz bush setting. Such a small world as dayle the hostess had previously worked at TAURANGA city council where I work and at Auckland council where my partner sally worked.
