The city is very clean and tidy, with lots of very nice places to eat.
The castle is very well preserved, with a Military museum in one of the towers.
One of the reasons we drove to Bragança was to see the Graça Morais art exhibition - she is one of Portugal's best contemporary artists, and she lives and works in Bragança - it was very good!
Just north of the city, the Montesinho National Park has plenty of wilderness for trekking, biking and road trips.

Bragança is a cozy little historic town, the main feature being the castle on the hill. Recommend walking along the river to get there. A little bit of a climb to get to the castle but not too bad. Walk the castle walls and then wander the interior. Come back through the charming center of town. Plenty of good little restaurants and cafes along the way.

The beautiful ancient town of Braganca is a good choice for a short stay while being in Porto. The atmosphere of a place far from the beaten track makes it all worthwile. It offers a picturesque old town, numerous museums that one might visit for free, a park where one can stroll along the river and enjoy the views. Plus, there is a castle (Castelo de Bragança), which is a must-see on the list. Being there do not forget to drop in a Tourist Info where you'll find a superkind staff who will help you plan you trip in and around the place. It is also the gateway to the Park Natural de Montesinho. Enjoy!

To stroll around the castle during a late evening is great.
To stroll around the castle during a late evening is great. Perhaps there are some outdoor activities. I liked the town so much, because it's pleasent to walk around - more pleasant than in other towns, but can't define exactly why so.

Braganca is a very welcoming city, the food is amazing.
Braganca is a very welcoming city, the food is amazing. Variety of traditional and more groumet restaurants. The best pastry coffee shops!
A wide range of delicious cakes.
Great water to drink and to wash, your skin and hair will feel soft.
It's very safe!
The rooms were clean, very comfortable, and the staff was terrific. He went over and beyond to help make my stay enjoyable. I highly recommend this hostel to anyone visiting Braganca. The house is in a quiet place with an amazing view. You can relax on the terrace with the view to the caster or down in the wine cellar that was transformed into a lounge. The kitchen is modern, clean and has everything you need for cooking. Thank you, Paul! I will recommend it to my friends!
I stayed just one day and enjoyed the overall experience. The staff is very helpful and kind. I arrived late at night and I did not indicate it in advance. Also I needed to iron the shirt and the cleaning lady with the receptionist helped with the ironing service. Breakfast is satisfying too.
The location is amazing and I had the view on the castle from my window.
If I go to Bragança next time, I will stay in Baixa Hotel again.
An amazingly charming inn located about 15 minutes outside of Bragança. It is in a very quiet village and that is exactly what we were looking for, a place to enjoy a restful weekend but close enough to the town. There was coffee and tea available all day, the room was comfortable, the interior of the house (a remodeled stone house) is incredibly charming and beautiful. And there is EV charger which was a big bonus for us!
This is a 300 year old with many original features still functional. Our room was spacious and quiet. Access to the garden provides a very calming break from the rigours of traveling. Something similar is available on the first floor. The staff are very pleasant and eager to help. It is very centrally located. Braganca is very laid back and understated compared with other Portuguese cities.
The hotel is located near the historical center of the city and shopping facilities, as well as the bus station. The staff is very friendly and try to accommodate your needs despite the language barrier. Breakfast was fine. You won't have an omelet, but you will be treated with seasonal fruit and freshly baked bread. Overall, very friendly service and value for money
The owner was very nice. The house is a typical Portuguese stone house, with a lot of old style objects shown on the walls and wells as around; the house has everything you would need, cutlery, plates, everything was super clean. Mattresses very comfy. If want to visit Braganca or just have a night stop, that is the place where to go. We will certainly go back
Casa do Javali was the perfect little hidden gem of Braganca, with all the charm of 500 years ago and all the conveniences of today, a beautiful one bedroom apartment to enjoy all the comforts of home and you step outside to 500 years ago and an amazing view of the castle. We ate most of our meals at Taberna do Javali do miss the amazing food and staff.
This was a beautiful luxurious space in a great location. The host was more than helpful and accommodating, going out of her way to ensure our stay was great. Unfortunately we did not stay long in Braganca, but the location was excellent to find restaurants, bars and downtown interests.
Fuck off this property..When I go there I can’t enter into my room..when I call them they can’t speak English..after that i message them after that they said after 3hours they are coming to hotel..wait for 3 hours..fuck off..disgusting
This is a very friendly hotel in a residential area about a 15 minute walk from the town centre and maybe half an hour from the old town and castle.
Very much appreciated the secure basement parking for our bikes.
Rooms surprisingly good for a rural hotel - modern purpose built wing. No food served on the Sunday evening, but the hotelier gave us a good recommendation.
