Big bed. Excellent breakfast. Just would’ve liked the hot water for tea to be hot not barely hot.

Exceptional breakfast, wine cellar and spa facilities. Would have been great to have more communal quiet spaces, perhaps a library or smoking room to play board games etc.

Geographically Lamego is in a hollow.
Geographically Lamego is in a hollow. As I approached from the south in full sun in December you could see Lamego covered in mist, cold damp mist. It lasted for my 3 day stay and the sun was only visible as I left and approached the Duro River!
The accommodation was dia and the highlight was the cheerful taxi driver to took me out!!
Limited walking as two routes were terminated by loose snarling dogs!

Very pretty city, could have spent more time just hanging out and getting to know the city and way of life. If you are there just to walk to the top of the steps to see the cathedral, then one day is sufficient.

We stayed for 2 nights and enjoyed the amazing view, the park like garden, the heated indoor swimming pool. The breakfast was great so was our room which was very spacious. The bed was very comfortable and the view from our private terrace was amazing.
There was no restaurant on site so that meant having to drive into Lamego for dinner. We had a car so that didn’t bother us.
We would definitely stay again.

Do not miss the Sanctuario Nossa Senhora dos Remedios.
Do not miss the Sanctuario Nossa Senhora dos Remedios. Beautiful church built on top of a hill overlooking Lamego. Multiple terraces adorned with traditional Portuguese blue and white tiles lead up and down the property. One of the most beautiful places I have been to. I am surprised that the church is not talked about more often as a major attraction in the Duoro Valley.

We really enjoyed walking and visiting the towers, castles and churches it was like a travel back in time. Also because of the proximity we could take a boat tour in the Douro river. We drove from Lamego to Peso da Régua then by train to Pinhão to finish with a 2hrs boat tour.
Another unique experience was to drive on the N222. According to Avis who has crowned Portugal's N-222 as 'the road that offers the best driving experience in the world. From Peso da Régua to Pinhão.
With plenty of cafés, restaurants and bars food and drinks are there for you to choose. Is worth to know that after 22:00 most restaurants are closed but there are some like "O Cortelheiro" na rua das Cortes is open until 2:00am and you can have much more than a sandwiche.
The view of the room and hotel was spectacular. The room was very comfortable, very silent, had a perfect temperature, comfortable bed. Breakfast was outstanding, with wonderful fresh fruit and bread and all different kinds of little cakes, and cheese and hams of quality. The orange juice was splendid. The restaurant had good food and the bar wonderful snacks. The location is perfect since you are nearby Peso da Regua and the splendid monumental city of Lamego.
I wouldn’t know. The property canceled our reservation the day before our arrival. I don’t know if it was Booking.com’s issue, or the BnB’s issue. All I know is that it was extremely inconvenient for us. It’s the only time in our extensive history of using Booking.com that there’s been a problem so I tend to think it’s at the property’s end.
My credit card was charged and I received a confirmation. Then we got the cancellation.☹️☹️
A real working farm stay, in a family home of intelligent, open, kind people. Homemade jams and lovely bedding! The house is old fashioned in the best possible sense of the term. A non-hotel in the best way you could imagine it! We loved the peace of it all, the beautiful old house, the views, and the wonderful owners…Thank you for such a memorable time, and your kindness…
When you stay, do take the restaurant advice!!
The most satisfactory accommodation in Portugal, and here it makes me want to visit the Douro Valley again. I went to the wrong accommodation with the same name near Pinhão, but thanks to the kind Beatriz, I was able to find Regua safely. Thank you so much to Beatriz for making our stay even more lovely!! Omly a mistake was that we only booked for one night. Worth a multi-day stay.
The house is an old building made of rock boulders, carefully and tastefully refurbished, comfortable and functional. We enjoyed a lot. The surroundings are fabulous, the little green villages, the vineyards, the spectacular Douro valley, all these make this experience unforgettable. The nearby town of Lamego is absolutely fantastic, as is the christian Sanctuary.
The hotel is located in a beautiful area with gorgeous views and charming buildings full with antiques and interesting items. The dinner and breakfast buffets offered variety and tasteful dishes. Staff was very nice and made efforts to make us feel at home despite issues with the heating and the facitilies in general that need improvements and repairs.
We were blown away by our stay at Lamego Hotel & Life; from our initial warm welcome at reception, to the breakfast, the spa, the pool, the food - everything was fantastic. We felt thoroughly pampered and relaxed after our 2 nights and desperately didn't want to leave! We will definitely be back and would recommend this hotel to anyone.
Great views, newly rennovated, peaceful quiet location, loads of good wine in the area, lovely pool
We didn’t have a car but the hotel owners helped us by booking taxis so worked out really well
Glass of wine on check in was nice and always available to bring beer and snacks
Flawless stay 👏🏼
The view and facilities in the hotel were even better than the photos. The hotel's elevated position overlooking the river was superb and the pool area beautiful. The restaurant was also surprisingly good, we had one of the best meals of our holiday here.
Spectacular rooms(superior) and views...wonderful living room kitchen in shared new quarters. All brand new, beautiful architecture and design overlooking vineyards. Only 20 min to Duoro River in Lamego. We loved it. Nice pool. Would definitely return.
We all enjoyed the hotel, it had a wonderful breakfast with lots of tasty offerings, lots of selections from breads to eggs and local pastries. I used the pool everyday, the outdoor pool area was well kept and we enjoyed the atmosphere at the bar.
Excellent Hotel in the middle of the vineyards and the Douro River. Nice place with beautiful views to the mountains and the city. Comfort and amenities to the right point and extremely professional staff and always ready to delight us.
Good location, beautiful hotel, newly built, about a year old. Pool, great for summer months. Friendly serviceable staff and owners. If you can, book a room on the 3rd floor with balcony and views of the city.
Welcome drink!.
Amazing hosts. Felt very welcomed here with my dog .
The location is great, with a very nice view over Lamego
Got to learn a lot about the city and ita history.
Very nice outside area to hang out
Very close to everything.
The location is amazing and excellent breakfast. Staff were very friendly and helped me with my bags and getting on the WIFI on check in. I thought it was good value and I really enjoyed my time in Lamego!
