The location was really good, walking distance to the centre of Tomar. Our room was a double with en suite. All spotlessly clean. Towels and soap provided. Towels replaced mid week. Breakfast was varied and plenty of coffee etc. again everything was spotlessly clean. Very friendly service. Lift up to bedrooms.

Hotel was right on the center of things to see. Left a day early because it got too crowded. It was a special event that only happens every 4 years. Sunday was just on there about to walk around the streets. Not hotel fault.

Title: A Charming Retreat in Historic Tomar: A Review of O Paco Tomar, Portugal
Nestled in the picturesque town of Tomar, Portugal, O Paco Tomar exudes old-world charm and hospitality. My recent stay at this enchanting hotel left me captivated by its rich history, impeccable service, and serene ambiance.
Upon arrival, I was greeted by the welcoming staff, who exuded warmth and professionalism. The check-in process was seamless, and I was soon escorted to my room. The hotel's architecture immediately caught my eye, with its elegant facade and well-manicured gardens evoking a sense of grandeur.
My room, adorned with traditional Portuguese decor, offered a delightful blend of comfort and authenticity. From the ornate furnishings to the intricate tile work, every detail spoke of the region's cultural heritage. The room was spacious and well-appointed, with modern amenities ensuring a comfortable stay.

Tomar is a very attractive medieval city, seeped in history. The Convento de Christopher towers over the city and well worth a visit. The Central Park is beautiful with its river and trees is a lovely relaxing place. Plenty of restaurants all in walkable distance of each other. Further out of town is a six kilometre aqueduct built in the time of Philip 2nd of Spain. A marvel of medieval engineer.

Tiny small place. Clean bedding. Quiet. 15 minutes walk from center.
I had to call a few times to get a reply where the key is.
Kitchenette, but:
No kettle for tea, no kitchen towel. Onky one mug.
No bath mat. Bath towels with bleach stains.

If you take the trouble to walk around Tomar, especially the old town, it is a fascinating place. It has an interesting square where the locals come out to socialise in the evening. There are a goodly number of restaurants, suitable for all budgets.

Beautiful, historical town with massive Templar Castle up the hill. That alone is worth the side trip form Lisbon or Porto. Many groups buses stop for a day but it is a rushed way to experience this place. I think two nights allows for a better immersion into its history. Castle alone takes few good hours, not counting the outdoor area. Great place to slow down and feel the old energy there. Town has plenty of coffee shops and nice eateries. Picturesque river runs right through the middle of town. Totally walkable town with quaint, clean streets with plenty places along the way to stop for a coffee, ice cream or a tasty bite. If you are there on a weekend you might get a chance to get a picture with a Templar knight!

Do not miss the aqueduct on the outskirts of town as you drive in - I've seen quite a few and the only better is the one in Segovia in Spain. This is a double decker that goes for half a mile, in terrific condition. I'm an aqueduct fan and this was worth a trip to Tomar by itself.
But there's more: the Templar chapel in the monastery at the top of the hill above the Praca Republica is one of those places where, just when you are beginning to feel like you've seen enough church stuff, you go holy smokes! I've never seen anything like this!
The town itself is cozy and warm, and it's worth a walk around to all the different churches and along the river. You can see everything in a day if you don't dawdle.

Nestled amidst the rolling hills of the Portuguese...
Nestled amidst the rolling hills of the Portuguese countryside, Tomar is a captivating town steeped in history and brimming with charm. Renowned for its magnificent Templar Castle and Convent, Tomar offers a captivating blend of medieval enchantment and modern-day allure.
The Castelo de Tomar, or Tomar Castle, stands as a testament to the power and influence of the Knights Templar, who established their stronghold in Tomar in the 12th century. This imposing fortress, adorned with intricate carvings and architectural masterpieces, is home to the Convento de Cristo, a masterpiece of Gothic architecture.
The Convento de Cristo, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is a labyrinth of grand cloisters, chapels, and chapterhouses, each whispering tales of the Knights Templar's influence. The remarkable Cloister of Silence, with its serene atmosphere and intricate tracery, is a must-see for any visitor to Tomar.
Excellent location, fantastic views, short stroll through parkland from the centre of town. Excellent choice of restaurants in town, we didn't have evening meal at hotel on this occasion as we knew of a lovely italian restaurant in the town. Hand sanitizer everywhere, very clean public areas, room very clean. Good Covid precautions in place for buffet breakfast. Plenty of safe off road parking. Brilliant hotel for visiting Tomar, very interesting town, amazing convent and castle, very cheap entry fee.
Absolutly fantastic apartment with 2 great outdoor spaces that recieve full sun. Furniture, cooking equipment, and appliances were very good quality and the welcome package and cooking staples were top quality and extensive. Our hosts, John & Dani, made check in easy and were right there for us if we needed them, which we didn't because everything went smoothly. The laundry service was a great addition and the location of the apartment is great for walking, or driving, into Tomar.
The hotel is new and you can easily see that. Beside having a great design, it is obvious everything was done to the modern standards and attention to details.
The location is also great within the city’s park creating a luxury feeling regarding this accommodation.
The services are also great and perfectly complete the overall feeling that this is a great choice for anyone looking for a place to stay in Tomar.
This is the best bargain in Tomar. it’s a wonderful location just a short walk to the historic part of town. a free breakfast is included. The walk in shower has the best water pressure of any hotel I’ve ever been in.
i can’t recommend it highly enough. nearby restaurants and outdoor cafes….a spectacular public market on Friday and Saturday…just a five minute walk away.
magical place
We stayed for three nights at Tomarhousing and we were very comfortable. The apartment was clean, generous space for two people and the location was excellent. Tomar is great for walking and the apartment was close to shopping, restaurants and attractions. We recommend this property and we would stay again.
Very modern purpose built hotel close to the main historic centre of Tomar. Great bathroom and air conditioning with very quiet sound proofed windows. The triple occupancy room has a privacy screen between the main sleeping area and pull out bed which was nice. Mini-fridge provided was also very appreciated.
The house has a lot of history and was the residency for the nobility of Portugal.
I stayed in the apartment which was a very generous size. The property in in the centre of town and near to restraunts and cafe Also nearby to the square and castle. Wish I had time to explore fully but will revisit.
Wonderful hotel. Large room with plenty of storage and counter space. Helpful staff. Nearby parking is very convenient. Included breakfast was great…Al types of coffee. Fresh fruit. Eggs. Pastries. Local cheeses. Tomar is a small town so everything was walkable. Would definitely stay here again.
When you are walking El Camino de Santiago de Compostela Portuguese, stay here!
One of the best hosts I've had in Portugal - Great sense of humor. You'll feel at home.
Ask about the clothes dryer upstairs with Portugese engineering!
Make sure to visit Knights of Templar Cathedral
I loved the fact that it was quiet and it is a good place to relax. I'll be coming back in the future for sure😊 Staff very friendly, I met Patricia, very cute😊 and the Hostess Telma, very friendly and polite on the phone. I already recomended to my friends in Portugal and England.
Super thoughtfully designed place, efficient and inviting details and appliances everywhere. Very spacious for two people. The most comfortable mattress we've slept on in Portugal as well! Very friendly and responsive staff. Excellent location, walkable to everything.
What a beautiful hotel in Tomar! We loved the balcony with a view of the castle. It was raining so we could not use the pool but it looked beautiful! The hotel was in a great location to walk around Tomar and there was plenty of free parking.
Location is fabulous for a trip to Tomar, cozy and comfortable modern room! Parking is just behind the hotel, with special rate for guests!
