The location of the hotel is great (the road to get there is a different matter and is nothing the hotel can influence). The receptionist was lovely but overall I have to say the staff was not very friendly or helpful. The room size was good and we had a little balcony facing the lake. It was great to get a free kayak for one hour as part of the stay.

The hotel has a very nice atmosphere, and the staff went out of their way to help us with a tour on Good Friday (a day when everything’s closed), which was the highlight of my trip, so thank you!! Very helpful and friendly. Location’s perfect, could not have been better. Bed was very comfortable and was lucky enough to share the dorm with only 1 other person which was lovely. The fan works perfect. Free water (and coffee) all day. Totally recommend!!

What a lovely hostel!!!!
The people are so friendly and the food is great.
I had a private room and loved how it clean it was (finally a room WITHOUT cockroaches) and a hot shower.
Hammocks, a small pool, roof terrace, makes you want to hang out all day and have some chill time.
I do want to mention that if you walk the wrong way there are a lot of drunks trying to get your attention. So just keep the direction of the cathedral 😊
It was nice to meet other travellers and take a trip to the volcano together.
100% recommend Casa Verde.

Very friendly staff and perfect location in the center of Santa Ana!

The most convenient airport for both domestic and international travellers is El Salvador International Airport. It's approximately 80 kilometres from Santa Ana, offering numerous flights and good transport links, making it the best choice.
In Santa Ana, El Salvador, public transport is primarily via buses, known locally as 'colectivos'. These run frequently throughout the city and surrounding areas. Taxis are also readily available. You see a lot of crap online of wether or not Santa Ana is safeS we had zero problems and never felt unsafe at all. Santa Ana and El Salvador in general have made huge inprovements in safety these last years. The town is nice , you'll strugle to find a building with more than 2 stories. It has preserved it's old world charm. Not supermany things to do or see but a good base to go exploring from

The road especially the side streets are horrible.
The road especially the side streets are horrible. Needs a traffic officer in all the main road that are under construction even at night. I closed my eyes hoping that my husband won’t hit a vehicle as he drove on tight traffic areas. I’m worried that our rental car won’t break down on the unpaved roads- lots of rocks and open pits.
The Santa Ana people are very helpful and kind.

I really liked the Santa Ana Cathedral.
I really liked the Santa Ana Cathedral. As an amateur photographer, I also liked the colorful and dilapidated buildings around the cathedral. They made a great backdrop for street photography. Unfortunately, I spent only a day here so I was not able to see or do many things in the area. It is a great location to jump off the Ruta de las Flores though. I’m definitely happy that I decided to start the route here and not from San Salvador.

Santa Ana is a medium sized city tucked in the mountains.
Santa Ana is a medium sized city tucked in the mountains. The market is fun to explore and cathedral and theatre are gorgeous. Outside of town there are ruins, volcanoes, and a lake within an hour. The town doesn't have much tourism which gives it a more authentic feel, but also means you won't find many good restaurants around the square or at night.
The atmosphere and the owners here Moris and Daneelo are what made the experience for me. They were so helpful and kind and they felt like family. Moris took us to some incredible places and I have felt so at home here. I will be sad to leave this hostel and Santa Ana. Give the place a chance, you won’t regret it! ❤️
The property is beautiful and has a lot of potential. It’s only just opened so they are still working out the kinks, but they seem to have already rectified a few of the issues spoken about in previous reviews.
I have to admit, it feels pretty fun to be staying in such a historic house. The rooms were massive (as I suppose one might expect, given it's presidential past) and there was a nice courtyard inside. It would have been hard to get much closer to all of the activity in Santa Ana's main square than this hostel and the area also felt surprisingly safe (even at night). Although we don't remember seeing it advertised, there was a kitchen available (though it was pretty dirty and not the most pleasant to cook in).
Fantastic property. New, clean, spacious rooms, each has a fan and a tele. Very secure property, padlock for each room and gates into property locked. Well stocked kitchen, very clean. Chairs and hammocks outside to relax in. The staff were fantastic, super friendly and helpful. Good wifi. Good location - restaurant/bar attached, near local market, 15-20 minute walk to town centre, short walk to local bus to Santa Ana Volcano.
Simply the best hostel I've stayed in the last 4 months of traveling.
Large beds, nice pools, cozy atmosphere, well equipped kitchen, comfortable TV room and the best ever staff. Adriana does her job with love, she's always available for anything you need and knows absolutely everything about Santa Ana and the surrounding region. I spent a week at Pool House and felt truly like home. Every hostel should be like this!
Very friendly and attentive staff starting from the security guards to the maintenance ladies. The front desk receptionists are amazing. Very hot shower water which is a plus for me, and ice cold A/C. Modern / contemporary look, clean, and spacious hotel located within walking distance to everything you need. Will always stay here when visiting Santa Ana and have already recommended to others.
What a gem. Carlos the owner is very friendly and helpful, providing all of the contacts necessary for transfers, tours etc.
The hostel has a range of accommodation and our ensuite room was terrific. Large enough to feel spacious, nicely fitted out bathroom and a view over the roof tops in Santa Ana. The rooftop terrace was a great place to enjoy a sundowner.
The owner took us to a thermal waterfall, muchas gracias! The building is a beautiful old mansion with so much space and character. The burger restaurant downstairs is convenient and the milkshakes are delicious. The staff are eager to help and speak English. The location is central and the Santa Ana Volcano bus stop is just a few blocks away.
Everything!!! The house is a well equipped with excellent facilities, clean, and a quiet space in a very good location in Santa Ana. The owner and family make every guest feel very welcome and are so kind and helpful. Luis is incredibly kind and helpful, a fountain of knowledge - the best place to stay in El Salvador!!!
Great bar and lots of outside areas to chill. Lots of information about things to see around santa Ana by the staff and volunteers. Hostel offers bike rental which is good. 2 kitchens on the property so plenty of room for guests to cook. Amazing pupusa place around the corner, la Rumba, so cheap!
The hotel was beautifully situated on Lake Coatepeque - we had our meals overlooking the lake and it was an incredible vista. The food was good and the service was excellent. My kids loved playing in the pool. Everything was clean and comfortable.
Awesome view, and tasty food. Friendly staff and good drinks. Music is mostly chill. We had a friendly private driver whom really helped us get there from Santa Ana. Nice and honest person: +503 6304 9425 - Amilcar Salas. Nice, roomy, comfy car.
Easily one of the best hostels I’ve been to! Carlos and his team are INCREDIBLY kind and very well prepared. The pool is so refreshing and the bar area is very convenient. Highly recommend Carlos’ house Sangria! AC was a huge plus.
It was located close to where I wanted to be. We were in Santa Ana for a volcano hike. There is a terrace with a nice view of the city. There was onsite parking. Not much else good to say. The place was average at best.
good value for money, clean, and breakfast was small but perfect start to the day. staff were really helpful although don’t speak great English. for what you pay this is perfect for a couple of nights in Santa Ana.
host went above and beyond to make us comfortable. he really paid attention to details. He made our first few days in El Salvador so comfortable and we missed his hospitality once we left.
Good location and comfortable, just a few minutes to city center, the staff are nice, bed comfortable with hot shower. will definitely come again if visit Santa Ana.
