Ogdensburg is the home of the Fredrick Remington Museum , which is well worth visiting if you like painting and sculpture. The town is located on the south shore of the St Lawrence seaway, which is very scenic and near a bridge to Canada. Ogdensburg is strategically located if you need accommodations for Canton and Potsdam given that the two towns have four universities between them. main reason for the trip was to go to Alexandria Bay and tour the Boldt Castle and for a little R&R and the Stonefence Resort was mentioned to us as a nice location which in all honesty bombed out with the issues ( mainly the bathroom ) the property seems to need a lot of love TLC

We loved the quaint riverside town.
We loved the quaint riverside town. Great breakfast place and the Remington Museum is a must see!!! We highly recommend a stop at this town where looking across the beautiful St. Lawrence River is Canada.GayleFrance

The hotel is located along the St.Lawrence River which is stunning. Just one mile down the street is the main facility that offered us free breakfast. Visitors will be surprised by immaculate grounds with a beautiful pool and deck area on the river. It was really quite a pleasant surprise and had an old world but still updated feel. The price is right! Highly recommend and would be a fun place for a family reunion.

It had the homey check in desk, separate outdoor entrances to the rooms, outdoor activities for the kids, and so forth. The room was clean. There was a full refrigerator in my room, a sitting area, and a complete bathroom. The water pressure was great. Breakfast was good as well. Plenty of choices and a nice atmosphere to eat in. Very nice!

They are passionate about their hotel and of history. The hotel is sweet and quite unique as it in an old converted school. The rooms are spacious and elegant. For breakfast they kindly catered to my tastes. I would totally come back. 😊

The hotel has a large grassy area that leads down to the River. There are some lawn games and a firepit. Our stay included a discount in the restaurant a few doors down where we had a nice meal.
