Comfy bed, close to town and restaurants, responsive host and the cute Labrador doggies that greeted us. The room is cleaned and serviced everyday by the friendly staff on site. Wifi good but no place to work if you need to open up your laptop. Bring your own device for streaming services as there is no TV.

A great little place for holidays and there are many nature walks within a 20 minute drive. It helps to know a local who can tell you about all the great stuff that is hard to find on the internet (or all the great places that are on the internet but are now closed).

The waterfalls are amazing as is the nearby dam.
The waterfalls are amazing as is the nearby dam. People are very friendly and I enjoyed the beautiful vistas and the mist over the surrounding hills. Now I understand why so many people retire to the Midlands. I ate at several coffee shops and restaurants. I found prices to be very reasonable.

I was very disappointed about the town of Howick, especially the area around the Falls. Its full potential was never fully realized, but, even with that in mind, it is a shadow of its former, limited, glory. Roads are uneven, gardens and verges are unkept, the tearoom looked desolate and the public toilets charged R 2 with no soap, toilet paper or toilet seats. This town and the falls should and could be a tourist Mecca with tour bus upon tour bus, quaint curio shops, restaurants, etc. It is an understatement to say that I left back to Durban with sadness in my heart about his state of affairs.
By the way, and without going into detail, the same applies to MidmarDam.

We were there to enjoy the Midlands Meander and Howick is part of that, so cannot be excluded. the position is wonderful to be able to get around to all the exciting little places that the Meander offers.
Beautiful countryside, lovely restaurants, wonderful overnight stay in a nice and quiet area, with super friendly hosts!
We had dinner for the Little Mozambique restaurant and breakfast at the overnight Meander Inn.
It is quite easy to get around the town of Howick.
Nothing to avoid on our next visit...we wouldl prefer to stay longer next time!
Unfortunately we were on a business visit, so there was no time for sightseeiing!
What a pleasant stay. We arrived and collected the keys with ease. When we walked in the host had waiting for us a slab of chocolate on bed something we didn't expect.
Load shedding was well equipped there was an inverter to keep all electronics functioning. It was spotless and private. We were welcomed by 2 sweet paw friendly dogs. Hot water bottles were available tonight the cold. A perfect get away for couples to reconnect.
What a gem nestled in Howick! From the well maintained lawn, to the comfy beds, the fully equipped kitchen( thank you for the biscuits, lemon cordial, milk, etc)and the friendly Grace😊(Jack Russell)
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, thank you Bryan and Lynn for your beautiful cottage. P.S the jungle gym was a big win for my super active 3 year old😅
The hotel was in a nice and secured area. The staff was very friendly and prepared us take away breakfast as we had to leave very early. We did not have time to explore hotel and its facilities more as we only stayed overnight. In general the room was nice and clean but towels were a bit tired.
I can't fault anything from this quaint little cottage.
Exceptional service, the guy even called us when we left to tell us we left our babies jacket ! How rare is this ! :)
A fantastic break from the city, cows grazing outside your door, a real bush vibe with a modern touch

Best Holiday Home in Howick.
Spacious and comfortable. Wendy was very helpful and friendly.Everything about the house is beautiful. The pictures does not do it justice.
I will definitely be back again!!!
Nice and cozy. Perfect for a night or 2. The hosts are super friendly and welcoming when arriving at the property. It's smaller than expected on the photos but its functional. Nice amd beautiful garden.
I enjoyed the experience of being close with nature and would recommend that the main bedroom have on mattress with a huge blanket, this combined mattress isn't working on cold nights :-).
Unit was lovely and clean. Room cleverly divided to accommodate couple and kids with privacy. Kitchen well equipped and with back up battery didn't notice any loadshedding.
Breakfast was very good. Locality was excellent. Overall very well appointed. Can recommend it to anyone needing comfortable accommodation overnight or for a few days.
