Warning: this review will contain a lot of high praise! Hilltop Whakaipo Estate is absolutely wonderful. The room is very spacious and comfortable with a beautiful view (we had the lakeview room) and a great bed. The bathroom is modern, and has a fantastic shower. Breakfast is delightful, we chose a tasty full English breakfast but this was only one of the many options - the Eggs Benedict also looked splendid. Because breakfast is at a single table, you get to meet the other guests, but also get to talk to the amazing hosts, which give advice on what to see and do around Taupo. We even got to feed the beautiful deers which are only one of the many animals on their domain. You have to be prepared for three enthousiastic dogs, which were very playful and loved being pet and belly rubbed. We highly recommend this place!

Brett was a wonderful host, making sure we had everything we needed. Bed was super comfy and warm, and the area surrounding was so pretty. We really felt welcomed and at home. All the amenities you would need were supplied.

Set on 2 acres of lovely gardens, Warkworth Country House features free WiFi and rooms with a patio. What a find. Fabulous place with amazing gardens. We were welcomed by Alan who had put the heating on before our arrival. Some home baking waiting for us was a real treat. Everything was there for us & the rooms were so clean with comfortable beds. Breakfast the next morning was a fabulous bonus.
