Situated in Taupo, 35 km from Orakei Korako - The Hidden Valley and 16 km from Great Lake Convention Centre, Hilltop Whakaipo Estate features accommodation with free WiFi, air conditioning, a shared... Warning: this review will contain a lot of high praise! Hilltop Whakaipo Estate is absolutely wonderful. The room is very spacious and comfortable with a beautiful view (we had the lakeview room) and a great bed. The bathroom is modern, and has a fantastic shower. Breakfast is delightful, we chose a tasty full English breakfast but this was only one of the many options - the Eggs Benedict also looked splendid. Because breakfast is at a single table, you get to meet the other guests, but also get to talk to the amazing hosts, which give advice on what to see and do around Taupo. We even got to feed the beautiful deers which are only one of the many animals on their domain. You have to be prepared for three enthousiastic dogs, which were very playful and loved being pet and belly rubbed. We highly recommend this place!

Location was amazing, High on a hill in open country with superb views yet only 10 minutes drive from the local town. The standard of kitchen and bathroom fixtures and overall quality of decor and finish were amazing

Earthbridge is a country house nestled in the rural Maratoto Valley, 10 km from Hikutaia. Continental breakfast is supplied. This was one of the highlights of our trip. A sustainable property with hikes on-site in the bush. Very relaxing and a wonderful experience.

Located in Miranda, within 5.3 km of Miranda Hot Springs, Miranda Orchard Cottage offers accommodation with air conditioning. Brilliant place to stay. Plenty of space. Kitchen was like being at home. Nice and quiet location in the country , only evening noise were cows and a morepork (owl). Friendly owners. The fresh laid eggs were great. This is why we returned to stay here again, after staying here on our last trip to NZ 5 years ago.

Offering a sun terrace and views of the mountain, Waitomo Orchard B&B is located in Otorohanga in the Waikato Region, 50 km from Hamilton. Well, first of all, the view was just incredible! The host was lovely, the room was clean and the bed was very comfy. Even though it was a shared bathroom, it wasn't an issue and we didn't even notice the 3 other couples/families staying there. Breakfast had a great selection and we were regretting only booking one night.
