A lovely town nestled in the mountains. The history is somewhat tragic and many people are still living with that memory. There are some buildings that show the pockmarks from shrapnel or bullets and are a reminder of what happened in this area. There are a number of shops in town and these are adequate for general needs. Sarajevo for major shopping trips and Mostar for wider sightseeing are both an hour away by car and Konjic is on the railway line between these two centres. Some lovely bread shops and some shopkeepers speak English. A lovely pizza restaurant in town and others serving more traditional food.

Nice small Bosnian town, for spending one day or two.
Nice small Bosnian town, for spending one day or two.
Rafting on the Neretva is super cool.
Tito's bunker was a little bit disappointing (very little information about Yugoslavian / Cold war / Bosnian history - as visitor of this bunker, i was not so interested in the modern arts installations...).
Perfect for a day trip by train, with 1..2 nights stay from Mostar or Sarajevo.

We arrived in Konjic by chance.
We arrived in Konjic by chance. Me and my friend were looking for a Rafting Club and Neretva Kor Rafting was the best option. We were not expecting to spend two days in Konjic but it was a great surprise. Really nice town, clean, neat and amazing people. Great cheap restaurants that offer you nice food... so not much more we could ask for.
If you really want to experience the real natural beauty of Bosnia & Herzogovina that is a must visit town in the country.
Highly recommended.

Great rafting.
Great rafting. Check out Travel Konjic, their rafting tour includes lunch and costs 50 marks (26€) per person. Restoran Han has a lovely riverside terrace and good food for a very reasonable price, good if you’re travelling on a budget. 26 marks for 2 course dinner and drinks for 2 people. We stayed 2 nights which was perfect.
