I appreciated the personal touch by those who were at the front desk. Each person was hospitable and helpful. After a 22 hour travel time from the U.S. it was a delight to have a comfortable room - with a clean bathroom and shower. The hotel is situated near the downtown area - so it was easy to walk to town and take in some of the sights. The final hill up to the hotel is a 'pull' -- but it's worth it. The breakfast was delicious and the table setting was excellent. The ability to eat on the balcony made it a special time.

Didn´t really stay long enough to write much. We came late, and left early. However, they did us a huge favour by storing valuables we forgot in the safe, including cash and it was all there when we picked it up on the return trip. Clearly honest staff and I applaud them for that.

The staff organised breakfast for us to our room on our first day as we arrived too late due to ferry delays. Quiet room due to high floor. Free parking was a bonus. Room was OK - not as good as European standards, but good for Patagonia verde.

the city is a good base or starting point to explore the region. The city itself is unremarkable in my view but is close to a lot of amazing places: Peulla, Petrohue, Cochamo, Chiloe island, Puerto Varas, Vicente Perez national park, Puerto Varas, Puerto Octay...
The city center can be unsafe at night. I recommend move only with day light or ask for a taxi in your hotel.

The best place to stay in that area is Puerto Varas.
The best place to stay in that area is Puerto Varas. All the excursions will pick you up there. Also, get on a transfer taxi ( shared mini- bus) from and to Puerto Varas - just outside the Puerto Montt airport. Will drop and pick you at your hotel. Also, you can get on a local bus in Puerto Varas by yourself to visit the Petrohue Waterfalls and then get back on the same bus to go to Lake Todos os Santos for a half hour navigation. It is fun to do what locals do. In Puero Varas I recommend Druma restaurant. Lively, locals and soft sound track. Also, they have gluten free food.

Puerto Montt is a good opportunity to see a mid-size Chilean city unspoiled and unvarnished by tourism. However, if you are not into a gritty city full of real locals don’t brother. We had a fantastic dinner at Club Aleman.

This place is full of possibilities (trips etc.)
This place is full of possibilities (trips etc.) Problem is,that everything is completely booked +there are no cars for rental. So it's very complicated to do anything (even to get into the restaurant you have to wait a que for quite a long time), everywhere is checking of everything (masks+ temperature+ vaccination) and it's time consuming.

Puerto Montt has a nice beach area and you can get day tours from there; however, I would recommend staying in Puerto Varas instead. It's a more charming town set up better for tourists. You can get the same day tours from there. It's about a 25 minute bus ride from Puerto Montt. We enjoyed eating above the bus station and Hotel Ibis that has a food court and overlooks the harbor.
The best day tour was Volcano Osorno including the waterfall Pueyhuehue.
Great location for the waterfront, and hosts recommended a restaurant that turned out to have the best sandwich I've had in ages---just chicken with mayo, tomato, and green beans (a Chilean thing), but it was huge and delicious--at Fuente de Aji, a nice walk along the malecon from the hostal. Patricia and Jose were wonderful, and also provided airport transport (15) and bus terminal (5). The rooms are what you can expect for the great price. Very quiet and comfortable.
Alejandra was a lovely host who made me feel very much at home right from the start. As I had troubles with my ferry being delayed for a few days she let me postpone my stay at her place several times. Her apartment is very close to the check-in of the ferry to Puerto Natales so the location is very convenient. And it's easily reachable by bus from Puerto Montt. I highly recommend staying at Alejandra's place!
Andrea and Estefan were wonderful hosts! They took our reservation with very short notice and greeted us with hugs hot tea and wonderful conversation. They were an amazing help with providing us information on travel in Chile and booking our Ferry down south. Would definitely stay there again, and hope to return someday.
Perfect place to spend the night before a morning flight from Puerto Montt. A 10-minute drive to the airport, yet quiet — feels like being in the countryside. Our host Ivonne has a great sense of design: the cabin is simply but exquisitely furnished and the kitchen has all the basics.
Had single rooms too so my friend could be comfortable while I stayed in a dorm. Good location in Puerto Montt. Breakfast is basic toast and tea but hits the spot. Stayed here a night after a week in Valdivia before going deeper into Patagonia. Lockers were good sized.
The hosts at hotel seminario are super helpful. They heloed me sort out problems with my Chilenean simncard and my bicycle and stored my bicycle box and bag for me while I was doing my bicycle trip to Patagonia. Thanks so much for everything!
It is a 5-10 minute drive from the airport. Stephanie was very friendly and waited for us to arrive late-ish. She has two lovely dogs. We had to leave early at 7am but Stephanie is used to this, and sent us off with packed breakfast.
Certainly one of the better hostels in Puerto Montt. The breakfast was nice. It was clean and it has a fully equipped kitchen. Power sockets next to each bed. I had a pretty comfortable stay and can totally recommend this place!
Standard business hotel with good amenities. Very comfortable. Lovely, helpful staff. Close to downtown. The breakfast/restaurant view is a spectacular! Best option for a quick stay in P. Montt.
We needed one night stay close to the airport. This was approx 20min drive, also the host offer to drop us to the airport which was really helpful.
The beds and pillows were comfortable.
Very good location and friendly staff. Breakfast was very well prepared and the room was very comfortable. Parking was close enough to the the hotel that it wasn’t inconvenient.
Great view from the rooms. Clean and stylish as always. Location is great especially for shopping (the hotel in the biggest shopping mall around) and walking down the shore.
A real gem in Puerto Montt, friendly, clean, cozy, helpful. Whether you're coming or going, as the name suggests, this is your gate to or from Carretera Austral
The staff were helpful and kind. Location was pretty good, 30min from airport. Lots of local restaurants and walking areas. But really not much else to do here.
