Somewhat secluded beach area about 15 minutes away from...
Somewhat secluded beach area about 15 minutes away from Samara. Great for couples or small families wanting to get away from it all. Playa Carrillo is a beautiful calm beach. There aren't many shops and limited choices for restaurants in the immediate area, but that's part of the charm of the town.

The beach is quiet and beautiful.
The beach is quiet and beautiful. There are no restaurants, but you can grill, if you have the patience. In the town, there are few restaurants, with delicious food (I highly recommend Hula Jungla). If you need to use the bus, you can take it every hour.

Perfect if you want to get away from the touristic beaches...
Perfect if you want to get away from the touristic beaches like Samara that are dedicated to American tourists.
Beware of the crocodiles though, we were told a family lives in the river next to the beach and sometimes, when the weather is stormy, you can see them swimming in the ocean :-D
Hotel Casa Buenavista is an exquisite place to connect with nature, relax in tranquility, rest in the most comfortable room with a tropical shower, and meet very special people who are the owners, Kai and Milly. Their hospitality is beyond anything I have ever experienced before when I have traveled. They really care about your stay and making sure that everything is exceptional for you.
The owner was very helpful and friendly. The hotel has a diverse clientele with about equal numbers of North Americans, Europeans and Costa Ricans. That made for a great atmosphere. Extremely restful spot and friendly staff. Though not huge, the pool is larger than many found in more expensive hotels in the area and it is in a great spot.
Very friendly and warm welcome from Dennis and Carrie. Nothing too much trouble, and always helpful.
Lovely breakfast by the pool, our room was very nice and the location was good for the best beach we saw in Costa Rica.
We were very lucky to see humpback whales on a boat trip with Francisco, which we booked over the road.
It is a relaxing place with nice people and a beautiful large pool. The food was fine and there was a pool table you could use. The most beautiful beach in Costa Rica is within walking distance of the hotel and as a bonus, next to the beach, If you are lucky you get to see a super large crocodile on the way.
Alicia and her family members were so friendly and helpful! They made our stay so enjoyable and comfortable.
The rooms were cozy, clean and well-maintained. The beds were very comfortable and the most important - The location was perfect - close to the beach Carrillo and also close to a lot of restaurants.
We loved the place and would definitely recommend it. The owner, an American who had great local information, and his wife made us feel at home and were very attentive to our needs and interests. Great breakfast and close to beach. Road noise was there, yet you get used to it. Kudos!
Love the peacefulness of the property. The staff were very pleasant. Short distance walk to the beach. Proximity to convenience stores. And the restaurant served amazing food (for reasonable price) included typical breakfast was a super starter to the day.
the location, the view, the lovely staff, how mellow it was. the hotel is walking distance to a very beautiful beach. the breakfasts were very good. there were macaws flying around squawking every morning.
The daily changing breakfast prepared with a lot of love- fresh fruits, coffee and many more
The pool is great
Close to the most beautiful beach Playa Carrillo
The hosts are very helpful and welcoming
The morning breakfast was free and consistent. The host was very nice and accommodating. The proximity to the beach was amazing. For being quite a rural area, good choice of restaurants near by.
Fabulous view from a bluff above the beach. It is close enough to Samara to easily drive in for dinner, but in a quiet, relaxing spot above a beach used by locals because it has no facilities,
This accommodation is beautifully decorated with a variety of plants, there is a kitchen where to prepare food, quiet and near the beach. Friendly and caring host.
very clean, small, quiet, tranquil, walking distance to restaurant and beach. Very clean, well-maintained. Nice pool, although small for swimming laps.
