We stayed in 3 different rooms as we had to extend our stay due to a flight cancellation, the best and newest ones are the sea view rooms as they have huge & comfy beds and lovely terraces each, the standard rooms really need to be refurbished -some smell really bad as if they had been closed for years, or have no safe or it's broken etc…

The room was clean and comfortable. Location is safe, with some options of restaurants and small grocery stores nearby although because this district is on a hill, car was the main transport. There was not too much to see in the neighbourhood.

I would have spent 3 days there maximum and spent the other 4 days in Tarrafal, instead.
In general I enjoyed my stay there, but Tarrafal it’s a different world, where you can actually feel the culture and be surrounded with beauty. Cidade abelha is also a must and it’s absolutely beautiful.
I would have loved to manage to see the typical ceramics, but people don’t talk much and don’t value much (unfortunately). I actually went to Sai Domingos on purpose to see it, but the locals said it was closed.

I loved the sun, the water, the history of the people, the moutains and the rest of the land, the beaches, Tarrafel and the kindness of the people. Its a great place for a vacation if you just want sun and the easy life on the beach or climbing mountain trails if you like. I will return!!

Praia is the capital of Cape Verde.
Praia is the capital of Cape Verde. The Santiago island is not the best if you are looking for a great beach experience. There are other islands with easy access that have superb beaches. We did a tour around the island which was interesting visiting Cidade Velha and Tarrafal as well as Sao Vicente. Tarrafal was a nice beach. The two main markets in Praia are a must see, also where you can buy some mementos.

Praia is a small "African" town, where you stroll around and enjoy the moment. There is actually nothing spectacular to see, but as a whole it is quite enjoyable. We walked thru Plato and along the beaches (Quebra Canela and Prainha). The restaurants there are really great: good food and nice view! But prices are higher than one would expect, more European.
The property was cleaned and well furnished. Location was nice and quiet. I felt save walking alone at night My host, Antonio was awesome, he made sure I felt save and comfortable. He was more than a host, a great individual and amazing guy. He was able to give me a tour of Santiago, and I highly recommend him to any tourist wishing to explore Praia and its environs. We visited beautiful beaches, National Park, and historic locations during our tour. The winding road and the hilly terrain added much value to the tour.
This is such a great find, a beautiful cool colonial house with tall ceilings and immaculately clean. Right in the historic center. The host was really responsive and the house is really comfortable, the room stays cool during the hot humid days, a real bargain for the price considering the beauty of the house and the details of the rooms. Cute little kitchen for shared use as well as a nice little walled patio out back. A great find in Praia! I changed hotels from the hotel Santa Maria and was so much better here.
The room was clean, bright and beautiful, the balcony and view were spectacular. The salt water pool was large, clean and warm. The night front desk officers Luis and Mario were excellent and very helpful. The breakfast was very good, as was the breakfast staff.
I also liked that the hotel pictures on the site are accurate - it is surrounded by a very rocky beach and doesn't present itself as beach hotel with an accessible sandy beach. There is a little sandy beach cove next to the hotel where people can swim.
I highly recommended this house to everyone who wants to visit Praia. I love the capital and this cozy place makes me feel like home. This is a home away from home! Room is such clean and bright, with a lovely balcony and helpful AC. They offer local breakfast and fresh grand coffee. Just 15 minutes walk to the beach and Praia shopping mall! Don't miss the small local supermarkets and restaurants in the surrounding areas, you will like it!
P.s. The lady staff is soooooo sweet and wonderful, love you so much!
We liked the location because it was safe, easy to catch a taxi, go to the beach or walk to other restaurants around it. The hotel serves a big and delicious breakfast. The servers were amazing!
The staff at reception and janitors were professionals, friendly, knowledgeable, and always answered to our requests. I give them 10 out 10!
The size of my room was great to a rate of 4, the view excellent 4, the bathroom was OK to a 2 out 4 and the facilities 3 out 4 for bonus.
Good staff, place was spartan but mostly equipped for a short stay. I was here for a few nights after going to a few other islands in CV to see a different part of Praia (I stayed in Plateau at first) and there are some cool tapas and shisha bars nearby. While I didn't cook anything, there are basic facilities and a couple of supermarkets around the corner to the left on the bigger road. Also, vegans rejoice, the only vegan restaurant in Cape Verde is literally next door.
Breakfast was aright, overall my experience wasn't that great.
My first time there and the staff definitely didn't know what they were doing (front desk) they over charged us, they didn't have a room keys for us, the room was smalling like a cigarettes I talked to front desk about it they didn't do anything or at least try, we ended up moved to different hotel.
Very disappointed :-(
The breakfast and restaurant were very good with the nice rooftop even if a bit windy. The chef Jose was super welcomed and kind and gave us very good advice about the places to visit for our only day at Praia. The location is good, few minutes from the airport, not far from the Plato and you can go easily to Quebra Canela by taxi or bus. Would recommend this place if you go to Praia.
It was cheap and close to the airport which is what I needed as I was arriving at night, so it was just a quick stop for me before going to a nicer Airbnb further away. I liked that they gave a bottle of water for guests as we don’t always have time to go and buy some before arriving. It’s not that close to any nice beaches or shops, the location is quite industrial.
Nice common space with the dining table and couch to enjoy meals and relax as a group.
Mini Mercado Flora (Great Nearby Minimarket) - Try a bottle of local Cha wine
Secreto Iberico (Amazing Spanish Tapas)
Meu Super Palmarejo (supermarket nearby that accepts foreign credit cards)
Ice gelato is the best on the island
The room was very spacious and very clean. The bed was really comfortable. We liked so much that we stayed here every time we had to be in Praia. The driver is very friendly and picked us up from the port and took us to the airport very early in the morning which was very kind of him.
Beautiful guesthouse. I had the top floor room and it was gorgeous. Very Instagrammable. Location is perfect. Short walking distance to the best restaurants and entertainment in the city, but far enough that you don’t hear any noise.
The flat is brand new, very clean and it offers everything you could possibly need ( microwave, toaster, kettle, TV, WiFi, it’s very well located, just 3 mins walking from the main square which is in the safest area of Praia.
Very clean, quiet, spacial, well equipped and new apartment in a great area of praia! Kind and uncomplicated communication.
We were very happy to stay at this apartment and would recommend it for 100 percent.
Very clean, good shower, supermarket and café nearby. Air Conditioner was the most important luxury. The curious feature was an virtually empty room (picture added) between bedroom and shower room.
Very warm welcome from the driver at the airport as well as from the reception staff in the hotel itself.
Nice and varied breakfast buffet.
Very friendly service throughout.
