The view from the apartment, especially from the deck, was amazing! The building is beautiful and nicely appointed. Appreciated the on site parking and complimentary beverages in the refrigerator. Loved that we could walk to the chairlift up Kransberg and enjoyed a lunch at the top and hike back down.

The view from the balcony of the Granat suite, full on of the Karwendal mountains overlooking the fairy tale town was a traveler's dream. There in shoulder season so no tourist crowds though some venues not open, like the Karwendalbahn. But the peace and beauty of the Bavarian village all the more palpable.

Very spacious apartment right in the middle of town. Close and convenient to everything. The hosts were top notch! Highly recommend, would stay here again.

This place is lovely; the german side of the alps has something unique and Mittenwald has its own special character. The town and its surroundings are all easily explorable on foot and the public transport is so good that you don't need a car. Innsbruck and Munich airports are both easily connected and Garmisch is close by. Karawendel and Zugspitze lifts give panoramic views of the Alps and a good selection of restaurants finish the day off nicely!

Beautiful town with lots of things to do.
Beautiful town with lots of things to do. The scenery is spectacular, so many hiking and cycling options. The town is picturesque and has lots of beautiful little art and jewellery shops. The violin museum is great even if you don’t know much about violins! Lots of nice eating options. The people were really friendly. Next time we’ll stay longer.

Mittenwald is a very cute village in the Bavarian Alps.
Mittenwald is a very cute village in the Bavarian Alps. It has picturesque streets with nice buildings to walk around, a church to visit and the violin museum. It is also very close to a ski area and the Karwendel cable car. It was very quiet when we visited especially in the evenings and shops had limited opening hours (most were closed on Sunday and some were closing for lunchtime too the other days). In terms of food, there are various restaurants (mostly with German cuisine, some Italian and Indian) and some bakeries, although it is worth noting that not all of them stay open in the evenings.

Lovely people, great service everywhere.
Lovely people, great service everywhere. Driving is civilized and sensible, choice of eating out is great. Skiing and hiking are the best bits. Super close to Austria and Garmisch-Partenkirchen, too. You can visit Seefeld in 15 minutes. Best holiday in years.
the location was perfect! From the balcony it seemed a distance to walk to town but this was not the case. 5 minutes and we were in the heart of the town to look at the shops and have a fabulous meal! I have stayed in Mittenwald before and this was my sister and niece first time. WOW factor and spacious room, soooo clean and welcoming. We instantly had dibs on our rooms. Parking was convenient and covered parking. Fabulous view from our balcony and overlooked entire Mittenwald town homes covered with snow.
OMG, this is the cutest town in Germany with amazing middle grade hikes, and few tourist hordes (lots of tourists from other parts of Germany but they blended in :) The hotel is a hike up a hill but you can go through an amazing botanical garden to get there, and you can sit in common areas drinking a beer with an amazing view of the town and the mountains.
Probably a good choice for a group of 4-6 people wanting a kitchen, and OK with spartan decor and OK but not great location at the ugly edge of a very cute town.
Mittenwald is a beautiful old town, well worth visiting. But we would stay in a charming place closer to the center.
Comfy bed.
We talked to the owners briefly and they were nice.
Our Host was great. He walked us through the unit and explained a few things. The furnishings in this unit exceeded our expectations. roomy and spacious. Attention to thoughtful details. Very good coffee and a couple beers and soda's in the fridge - waiting for us. all the little extra touches made our stay in Mittenwald just perfect.
When you look to the white Karwendel in the golden rays of the outgoing Sun ... When you listen to the silence and the evening songs of the birds ... And when you realize that you are sitting on a comfortable chair in the terrace with a Franziskaner Weissbier in your hand and no reasons to do something else or go anywhere in your head ...
Everything was wonderful. Lovely hotel, very cozy, comfortable. There is absolutely everything you need for everyday life. It is located in a beautiful place in the town. Small pleasent presents from hotel were everywhere. Wonderful administration, helped in all matters. I recommend it to everyone.
price was unbeatable for the high quality accommodations and service. Karin was very hospitable. Location was excellent and Mittenwald is a very cute, relaxing and walkable town. We had a one bedroom apartment which was very clean and they even provided a nice baby bed for my 5 month old.
The hotel is modern and clean. The owner is kind and helpful.
Breakfast was delecious (free coffee in the afternoon in the hotel's lobby). View from the balcony was amazing, pointing the mountain. Location is perfect, just 500m from the Gorge. Would definitely come back.
Hotel has indoor pool and sauna for use. Dinner added was amazing in particular last night buffet dinner with variety of local food and live music. Final dessert was a great surprise! Hotel is close to train station with just few minutes easy walk.
Our room had a balcony and a great view of the mountains. The bathroom was well appointed. The breakfast had a great selection of delicious choices. Dinner also good. The traditional cosy feel of the hotel lived up to expectations.
