The location is staggeringly good. Such a surprise when we arrived: 14 tall stone crosses lined the approach road, and then the views! Amazing. Mountains (on a clear day) and rolling countryside. The medieval town of Dole is only a few miles away, and absolutely worth a visit. The staff were super friendly, and the restaurant is excellent. A perfect - and slightly unusual - stopover for us on our way home to the UK.

Hotel seemed clean but as I saw two + two dogs walking in the corridors and the breakfast area I sincerely doubt the hotel is clean!

The hotel is a little dated but comfortable and in a good position very close to the pedestrianised centre of Dole. Our room and bathroom were a good size. The staff were friendly and helpful. We had a simple breakfast in the bar of the hotel for €8. Because of roadworks the hotel’s parking was inaccessible but there is a public parking area across the road which is free. Spaces were in short supply but we managed to find parking there which was very convenient. We ate at Le Grévy, next door and had an excellent meal.

Breakfast was very good. I hadn’t come across the self-egg boiler before but it worked very well and the eggs were delicious.
