The newly refurbished rooms are stunning. The updated decor in the pub and the beer garden look amazing.
This booking was an additional room to a larger group booking for our wedding. Throughout our stay the owners and staff of the pub were fantastic. Friendly and helpful and even though it was a very busy weekend, we felt very well looked after and catered for. The food was beautifully presented and tasty and we were made to feel very special.
The stay at The Dog & Partridge made our wedding weekend one we will never forget.

The beds were comfortable and clean. The hotel was quiet largely due to it being empty because no one else was staying there.

Bury St Edmunds is a beautiful Town with plenty of lovely places to visit. It has a very unspoilt, almost old fashioned feel to it. There are plenty of great Independent shops and also larger more recognisable high street chains. The Abbey Gardens are beautiful especially in the Summer time.
You are spoilt for choice with the selection of cafes, restaurants and pubs to eat in. The Apex is a fantastic venue to watch a show in or just wander in and have a coffee.

Bury St Edmunds is a wonderfully historic English town with a slower pace than Cambridge. It’s definitely a really nice change from busy London. I would stay in Bury St Edmunds over Cambridge. Just take the train to Cambridge for a day and then come back to the calm of Bury St. Edmunds to enjoy your precious time minus the tourists.

Bury St Edmund’s is a very English town full of heritage. The Abbey Gardens and ruins are beautiful and well maintained. The town is full of small gourmet restaurants and quaint cafes. Giggling Squid restaurant is amazing! There are plenty of shops for buying gifts and a regular market on Wednesdays. You do not need a car to get around this town.

Bury St Edmunds is a lovely place to visit and the Abbey Gardens are lovely to walk round. We were seeing relatives, The Bushal was in an ideal place near the town. We went by train so no car and The Bushal was good for that. A good place to visit, and historical.

Had a most enjoyable weekend stay at The Abbey Hotel
Lovely comfortable room full of character. All the necessary creature comforts provided in style.
Ideal location just a short walk into the town centre to explore.
Lovely peaceful gardens at the rear to sit and chill out
Hotel staff very welcoming and accommodating – nothing was too much trouble for them
Have no hesitation in recommending it.
This is a pub very close to the town centre - we were there for a concert at the Apex, and it's just a short walk up the road. The room was almost a suite with a large bed, a shower room and a small area with tea/coffee facilities, seating and wardrobe. The breakfast was very good with a wide range of cooked options, cereals, toast, etc. Live music on Saturday night was a bonus.
We enjoyed every aspect of our stay. The pub is beautiful, the hotel rooms, pub, premises were spotlessly clean. The location is excellent right in the city centre. The staff were so kind and friendly (nothing was too much trouble). This was a last minute booking for us, we were so pleased that we will defo be returning.
Very friendly and helpful staff. Excellent location - quiet but close to the town centre. Parking is rare in Bury so this is ideal. Very clean. Tasty breakfast with great choices.
Very generous breakfast and first quality. The location being in the town center is ideal for strolling to shops and restaurants, etc. The room was comfortable and very large.
Great location, free parking at the hotel, fantastic breakfast even though we didn't get all we ordered. Room clean and tastefully decorated. Good wi-fi.
