Well located, quiet room and the pub meal was excellent, plus great value for money.
The hotel and the surrounding area are well worth the trip.
The hotel and the surrounding area are well worth the trip. We stayed in one of the cottages which was renovated to and excellent standard maintaining original features. The gardens are interesting. I declined to be shown to the cottage but would recommend being taken to the one given as the allocated one was not obvious.

The Hotel is not in Castle Combe itself.
The Hotel is not in Castle Combe itself. It is a short drive away from Castle Combe up a very narrow one track road. The hotel is wonderful and we had a great dinner meal there. Not so fussed about breakfast. We did not want a cooked breakfast and the breakfast bar itself could have been improved.

One of my favourite locations in all of the UK, I have not...
One of my favourite locations in all of the UK, I have not been back in 29 years and the village has lost no charm at all.
Hot chocolate and cake from a friendly gentleman in the village was perfect on the wet day that we visited.

I loved Castle Combe.
I loved Castle Combe. It’s a really picturesque town great for photos. If you’re there for longer than a couple of hours then the walking tracks surrounding the town are exceptional, especially during autumn. So many amazing walking trails and leafy pathways and wild blackberries all along the tracks. I spent ages just walking around. It’s even nice to just sit under a tree in front of the Manor with a book.
If you plan on taking public transport then make sure you plan getting there and leaving carefully. Public transport didn’t run there on the day I planned to go so I had to take an Uber there, but then getting an Uber out of the town is not an option (unless you’re very lucky). So just don’t take an Uber into the town on a Sunday if you’re also planning on leaving on Sunday or you might find yourself stranded.
There are buses that come but only a couple a day, and some are a bit of a distance from the city centre and you’re likely to lose phone reception if you try and walk to those stops.. so plan ahead wisely. But there should be a bus that comes right to the city centre- just don’t miss it!
P.S If you go for a walk outside of the main town make sure to find the Hollow! The little fairy house hidden in a log, inside it you’ll find a book where you can sign your name :)

Beautiful village.
Beautiful village.
I loved every minute of my stay however, 1 day is more than enough to explore the whole village.
The bridge, church and Manor house is a must see.
Foot at Castle inn was amazing.
Parking is available but public car park is some distance away.
I cannot fault this beautiful village.
The Old Court House was very well maintained, clean and as advertised! Such a rich history we found fascinating. The location was central to all thing Castle Combe (albeit a very small village). Castle Combe is literally like stepping back in time and absolutely overflowing with charm and beauty! The locals are warm and sell ice cream and cakes right out of their homes! PS. Castle Inn dining was exceptional.
The property was in an excellent location for anyone visiting Castle Combe race circuit. It was exceptionally clean, superbly equipped (it even had a dishwasher and dishwasher tablets) with lots of thoughtful touches such as bottle opening, dishcloths, tea towels, cereal, tea, coffee, toiletries etc. The host (Fleur) was very polite, helpful and understanding when we didn’t arrive at the time we said we would.
This place is a dream ! Very well located, just a few steps from the center of Castle Combe, this house seems coming from a fairytale. The exteriors are lovely, with a little space for the car. Inside, what a surprise for us to see how equipated it was ! All you need is inside, to enjoy a peaceful night. It’s very cosy you feel like at home. And I think it could be very lovely during winter !
The place needs a good clean including. For example mini fake plants in the room had cobwebs, cushions smelled.
Around for £170 should at least have been cleaned thoroughly and have a bathroom with some space to move.
Dinner was poor quality.
Breakfast was limited choice. No fruits, juice, pastries were soggy.
Sadly staff were not covid compliant.
I stayed at the White Hart for one night with a number of my groomsmen ahead of the big day. The team were incredibly accommodating and really went the extra mile throughout the stay.
The rooms were spacious yet cosy and the breakfast was a great way to start the day.
Would highly recommend for anyone visiting the area.
The breakfast was delicious & the service impeccable. The whole experience at this inn was amazing. We found everyone so helpful and welcoming. I have to add, my meal at dinner was the best I’ve ever had in my travels so far in life. It feels dream like here - Thank you for allowing us to experience this
A quintessentially English cottage in a beautiful village. Very well equipped and comfortable with a well stocked Kitchen. The vaulted cathedral ceiling in the Master Bedroom with a four poster bed completed our wonderful relaxing vacation in the Cotswolds.
We absolutely loved our stay here. We came on a whim and had the best time imaginable. The property and area around it was wonderful and dreamy and more than we could've asked for.
Lovely cottage room. Excellent facilities. Bath and shower were amazing. Christmas tree in the room made it all the better. Great location. Lovely village pubs. Hotel so unique.
Really lovely stay. Peaceful location and walking distance to Castle Combe village. Accommodation is comfortable and our host went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable.
Everything!! Beautiful property in a very charming village. Hospitality, meals, service and attitude were amazing!! I can’t wait to go back. One of our favorite stays ever!
absolutely amazing area. Staying at the white hart made the experience as it was a lovely old inn that allowed us to soak up the history of this wonderful area.
