Set in a converted cluster of fisherman’s houses along Portree Harbour the hotel offers plenty of character and quirks. There are 17 en-suite bedrooms with all expected facilities.

Comfortable, charming, very friendly staff and location.
On average, 3-star hotels in Portree cost US$215 per night, and 4-star hotels in Portree are US$315 per night. If you're looking for something really special, a 5-star hotel in Portree can on average be found for US$284 per night (based on Booking.com prices).
Portree is lovely. We visited in early may and the crowds were mostly manageable. I would be a little concerned in the heart of the season. My suggestion to the powers that be would be to consider shuttle busses to the popular sites from centralized collection points; discourage rental cars from driving to the sites independently in some way. The small roads and on-site car parks can become overly crowded. We couldn't get near Quiraing for the traffic on the winding one lane road. In all other respects, Skye and Portree are lovely and a pleasure to visit.

I only spent one night in Portree so my judgement is limited. Even before the tourist season started, it was quite crowded. I can’t imagine what it must be like at the height of the season. Skye is lovely but expensive compared to other locations in Scotland.

Skyelight Apartment is at a great location, very near to Portree town centre, maybe 1-minute walk. Nicely furnished, warm and cozy. Note though there is no washing machine. Otherwise, a wonderful accommodation.

Very touristy not quite what we’d expected restaurants we sampled not as good as on the highlands NC500 so for us I wouldn’t do Skye in favour of the Highlands I’d spend longer on the NC500 west side.
The view from Cuillin Hills is spectacular. It was truly a joy to pull into the carpark after a long journey to Skye and view Portree Harbour from the front lawn. All of the staff were incredibly warm and friendly and immediately made us feel welcome. Our evening meal was very good (the mussels in particular were delicious) and our room was extremely clean and comfortable, which resulted in 8 hours of deep and relaxing sleep. All in all, Cuillin Hills is a very well-run, guest-focused hotel, in a beautiful island setting. We will return.
Staff are so friendly always smiling ,happy to help and very welcoming. Food downstairs in The Antlers Restaurant is lovely and helpings are good too
.Right in the central square of Portree with shops ,chemist ,pubs, cafes ,coffee shops, post office local buses, tour buses ,taxis etc just right out the front door of the hotel or a few minutes walk If you.
*Advise you to reserve your Dinner Table when making your booking .The restaurant is popular with Islanders and Holiday makers so it can be busy.
Fabulous spacious room with superb view! Comfy, clean, tasteful, well looked after. Super friendly host! Loved all the little extras: a wee dram, variety of coffees in room, quirky/fun art/ornaments etc
Breakfast was delicious and pre ordered the night before- lots of options and included buffet items too.
Parking was very easy opposite the hotel and location great to easily access Portree itself, as well as a great base to explore Skye. We had 2 nights here and would highly recommend.
To start with communication with the Royal was excellent. They answered every questions promptly and even made dinner reservations for us. Breakfast was superb. We also ate at the restaurant one night and it was really good. Our room had a wonderful view of the harbour. Cannot beat the location. This is not a fancy hotel by any mean but the room was well appointed and the bed was very comfortable. We would definitely book this hotel for our next visit to Skye
Breakfast was very nice and fairly priced. Our superior double room was lovely with all of the features you need and more. We loved the soap from the Highland Soap Co too! The Isle of Skye was the most beautiful place we’ve ever been to and the Marmalade Hotel is perfectly situated in Portree, so you’re never too far from anything that Skye has to offer. I would highly recommend visiting the Fairy Pools and Kilt Rock/Mealt Falls, both are incredible views.
Lovely little house provided with everything to make a short stay memorable. Especially appreciated the well stocked kitchen for making breakfast and the included dishwasher. Having a spot for parking the car was also quite nice and the garden had a nice view of the mountains. A bigger Co-Op was close by so getting groceries was very convenient. Portree and Skye of course need no description... Absolutely beautiful.
We spent 4 nights here for our Skye trip and everything was absolutely perfect! We really appreciated the milk, eggs, bread, cheese and all the other goodies to start us off before going to the grocery store. Bed was the comfiest out of all the other places we stayed in Scotland. The Isle of Skye was so magical, we hope to come back and wouldn’t hesitate to book here again!
By far and away the best accomodation of our 8 day trip to scotland. A huge room built by the side of the owners house and a fantastic cooked breakfast brought to you on a tray the next morning. Owners were friendly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble. Dont hesitate to book this accomodation if you're visiting portree on the isle of skye.
A wonderful experience.
Excellent staff, lovely views to Portree, and beyond to the Cuillins, and top class food and a relaxed atmosphere in the restaurant. Our room was comfortable and spacious with a beautiful view of the town. We would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel. Credit to Anna for a speedy check in and to Craig for a friendly and efficient service in the restaurant.
Adelaide’s was right in the center of Portree- so central and convenient to everything. the apartment is so cute and so clean. we have been staying in hotel rooms on our trip and it was so nice to have more room to spread our. The breakfast of pancakes, cereal, fruit, cheese and yogurt was such a treat! I would definitely recommend staying at Adelaides!
Fantastic location, centrally located in the town of Portree and a great location to visit the points of interest all over the Isle of Skye. Nice to have the Nespresso machine. Thanks to our host to promptly responding to our questions. The host provided a detailed guide to the area prior to arriving which was very informative and helpful
Room was spacious, well equipped and very comfortable, lovely furnishings with a Skye influence. Great location. Hotel had a nice ambience about it, livelily and friendly. Good mix of heritage and modern touches. We had a view of the harbour and down into the town which was great.
Amazing views of harbour and sea with mountains in background. The best staff from very friendly receptionists to the wonderful Dawn and Peter and James. Food is superlative from breakfast to exceptional evening meals. This hotel is a must stay in Portree.
Pretty, cosy and comfy room with great bedding and coffee machine. All clean and fresh looking. The room was quiet and private despite other rooms being very close. Location of hotel is fabulous overlooking the picturesque main harbour.
Unbelievably clean, the host does a huge job in cleaning in between visits. Felt like a completely new room!
We were both happy with the accomodationa and the hotel!
Great location near the town of portree!
I loved that it was centrally located in Portree. I loved that I could make a res for supper and breakfast. The food was phenomenal and the staff was welcoming and kind. The entire hotel was beautiful!
Historic hotel in the heart of a Portree. Friendly staff. Restaurant and bar. Small private parking lot across the road. Reasonable price including breakfast. Water views from streetside rooms.
Really great location on Isle of Skye next to portree. Really nice privacy and next to stag farm so you can see wildlife outside your window. Lots of space and big kitchen.
Was handy for walking into portree, The Decor and looked as if just done up over last couple of years. Staff were lovely and friendly and fell in love with the hotel cat
