I have visited the Claremont on many occasions and every time my stay has been second to none. The rooms are clean and comfortable, the facilities are everything you need and the breakfast is lovely, well cooked, cooked to order and more than great value for the price of the stay.
The Claremont is well situated for easy transport routes and there are local shops nearby.
What makes The Claremont special though, are the amazing people who work there. They give an extremely warm welcome to everyone who walks through the door, nothing is too much trouble and they make everyone feel like family.

I was visiting family so that was good, It has tried to be a cafe society and there are some nice small cafe's and artisan bars but the people are depressing, seem happy to walk round eating burgers and drinking cans of beer. like all towns lots of empty properties, charity shops etc.
Will be good when the Harris museum opens again next year.

I only visit when I have to, visiting family.
I only visit when I have to, visiting family. I have made several trips over four years. First impression was of a grubby town, streets and public spaces covered in litter. Sprawling industrial parks on the outskirts. Ubiquitous pavement parking makes it dangerous pulling out of residential side streets. I have found little of cultural interest to do in the city, apart from the museum, which has been closed for refurbishment. No decent venues for live music or theatre that I am aware of. Easy enough to get a basic and pleasant meal from the usual restaurant chains. I haven't made much attempt to research into more interesting venues for eating out, apart from RK dining which is great for vegetarian/Asian takeaways. I think there is a good range of different cuisines if you look for it. I guess the University is Preston's saving grace from being a purely industrial town. It is reasonably easy to navigate the city centre on foot or by car, and regular buses. It does have a good number of well maintained and accessible public parks, and a good walking route via the Guild wheel. Brockholes is a good place for nature, although close to a motorway. A range of pleasant areas of Lancashire countryside are a short drive outside city.

Preston is a lovely town.
Preston is a lovely town. I visit because I have close family there, but I wouldn't say it is a hub for tourists. There are fantastic attractions, like Hoghton Tower, and the downtown area is very quaint. When with family, we usually go to a great fairly local pub or other restaurant for lunch/dinner, and there are plenty of those with great food and ambiance. I love going for walks in the local area.

Love this area at Barton and surrounding areas of it.
Love this area at Barton and surrounding areas of it.
We love the Barton Grange garden centre and the lovely resteraunts in the pubs in the local area are really friendly.
The spa facilities at barton Manor are really good and ecelant friendly staff there too.
We stayed overnight whilst travelling from Worcestershire to Cumbria to visit family for a short pre Christmas break. We wanted a location close to the motorway but also convenient for us to visit friends whilst in the area. the ibis gave us both. it’s a few minutes from Preston City centre and less than 30 mins from Blackpool. the hotel itself is very good. The room we had was clean and comfortable and it’s also dog friendly. The breakfast was also very good. and the staff very friendly
Our anticipation to reconnect with loved ones in the northwest was met with the prospect of cozying up at Jam Pot Cottage, offering respite from the inevitable rain. The kitchen boasted commendable amenities, including a spacious refrigerator, microwave, and gas hob, accompanied by a complete set of cookware. The bathroom featured convenient fixtures and a nearly new shower curtain, while the wood burning stove added warmth to the living area.
Friendly and helpful staff. Good size clean room with a comfortable bed, having quality linen. There was a good sized tv plus iron and ironing board, hairdryer and tray with complimentary tea/coffee and biscuits plus kettle and crockery. Bathroom was clean with soft towels, hand and body liquid wash plus box of tissues and sufficient toilet rolls.
Overall a very pleasant stay and will happily stay at this hotel again.
Recommended by Booking.com when original booking elsewhere was cancelled day before visit (Thanks for nothing, Stanley Street Apartments!) I am glad they did tho. Lovely, spotless house. Quiet area, despite being on edge of city centre. 4 bedrooms, double bed in 3 and a smaller single. Everything you'd need for a stay, even fresh milk in fridge. Free WiFi and Amazon TV also. Will use again when next in Preston.
Very friendly and welcoming.
The room was lovely and clean.
The breakfast had a great choice from cereal, yogurt, cooked which was cooked to perfection.
Was only a 5 min walk from train station, and town center.
I would highly recommend the Ashwood hotel..
The room was the standard of say a four star hotel that's what I thought. Everything in Room 21 was of great expectations and far exceeding my expectations. This hotel will be my base for Blackpool and Preston from now on. The presentation of the room!
The hotel was in a quiet location with ready access onto the the motorway and into Preston. Cooked breakfasts were very tasty and lunches & dinners were good and reasonably priced. The staff were very personable and my room was clean and pleasant.
We all were made very welcome. The host was very accommodating to our requests.
Our rooms were very spacious both with ensuite.
The hotel is in a nice area.
A 5 minute drive into the centre of Preston or 20 minute walk.
WE WILL BE BACK. 😍

Would recommend and stay again
The hotel was located just a short walk from the city center. The room was clean and tidy and of a good size, the hotel was very tidy and the breakfast in the morning was a buffet and the choice was very good.
Very cheap room close to Preston centre. Ideal for a short stay visiting friends. Clean room and comfortable bed, good sized room for the money. Staff very nice, helpful people. Secure and safe area.
Excellent location for work and leisure as you have easy access to Blackpool and Preston. Very quiet and nestled in a very pleasant neighbourhood. Rare to find such s combination actually.
The breakfast was very good, though I did not have any hot drinks so do not know how good the coffee is (petrol station next door serves coffee too). The hotel has an easy, relaxed vibe.
The staff were very friendly. Location is good only about half hour away from Blackpool. The price of the hotel was good. The restaurant next door was good too
Location was central. We were traveling from Carlisle to Warwick and stopped for dinner in Preston. We booked the room at dinner and it was only minutes away.
