Perfect for the price. Staff were really friendly. I really enjoyed the free breakfast and the available drinking water. The property had a very laid-back vibe with nice spots to relax. I spent most of my time chilling by the lake with all the lovely dogs.

I stayed for 4 nights in one of the domes which look beautiful in the pictures and are nice and spacious inside. The room was clean and has an amazing view of the lake.
Breakfast was generally really good and tasty with eggs to your liking plus avocado, beans, plantain, cheese and coffee, juice etc.
The bar service was great. Really nice cocktails and smoothies and you can take these anywhere outside.
Before my stay i booked the Revive spa day which was really great and was really good value for money in my opinion. It was a quiet day at the hotel when I did this which made all the difference. The therapists were really amazing and it was really relaxing. I'd definitely recommend this.

San Marcos is not for all travelers - lets get that out of the way.
But there are groups of people that will upon arrival never ever want to leave. Spiritually minded people, those who really enjoy Yoga not as a sport or fitness regime but a way of life. Anyone into any form of ecstatic dance, shamanism, eco tourism or the like will discover in San Marcos a vibrant like-minded community and will never want to leave. The lake offers amazing views, a true spiritual center on this Earth and terrific vegetarian food options all over.
DO NOT rent a car to come here, local transportation is by boats and TukTuk's, quite convenient infact.
El Giardino and Emporium are terrific restaurants, as well as Lush.

A perfect location with almost a private beach.
A perfect location with almost a private beach. It is more suitable for people who prefer loneliness as it is isolated from town and not too many people are around. I would recommend getting supplied with groceries as getting to town is a long uphill walk.
In my opinion it is a bit overpriced compared to other location in San Marcos

San Marcos is beautiful and as a solo female traveler, found it to be quite safe. It has a wonderful no profit organization that helps empower local women, provides an after school program for children so they are not working on the street , and they also help feed the elderly. We as travelers are fortunate enough to visit these places, but for me it was nice to find a place I could give back to the community simply by purchasing a delicious lunch for $3.

Beautiful restaurants. Low key atmosphere.
Beautiful restaurants. Low key atmosphere. It’s small so you’ll see some of the same things. But it has amazing gems all over. Yoga forest, eagles nest, and especially Las Pyramides were amazing spots. Too many good restaurants to try in two weeks.
Most everything is walkable. And the trampoline is a must, even if you don’t do the 10 meter jump into Atitlan. 15Q for a beautiful spot to read, write, or swim.
