Having Self check in was nice, we got lost and arrived pretty late, but we were able to get to our room immediately.
The inn is in a quiet area next to a lovely stream that culled us to sleep at night.
Our room had toilet and shower room separated, which was very nice.
The room is a little small, and if you have too much luggage it might get a bit crammed but we managed anyway.
There's a couple of kettles in the common area that you can use and you can probably leave your bags within the Inn before/after check in if you need to, but we didn't require that service.
You can borrow umbrellas if it's raining.
The area seems very quiet and anonymous, but in the end it's quite nice, there's so many small restaurants/convenience stores/chains around, it's perfect for having dinner after a long day walking.
There's a jr station within 10 mins walking and plenty of bus stops. Also a couple of laundromats.

A nice hotel in a great location. Staff was nice and friendly. The amenities bar was full with everything you need and even though you were off of one of the main shopping streets it was still nice and quiet in the hotel. Perfect location to walking into Gion too!

Prime location which is situated right above a sheltered shopping strip adjacent and connected to Nishiki Market. The hotel is also a 10-15 minutes walk to Gion and from there it is quite convenient (and up to you!) to walk further to visit Ninenzaka and Sannenzaka, and the bustling tourist attraction, Kiyomizu-dera temple. The double room itself was adequate for 1-2 pax and furnished well, while the staff were very friendly and accommodated my slightly early check-in time.
Opened in March 2015, Sakura Terrace The Gallery is conveniently located a 2-minute walk from the JR Kyoto Station. The on-site cafe offers house-roasted coffee and a selection of tea.
