This is a great location to stay if you want to visit the national parks and My Village will organise safaris to the four parks in the area either a half or full day. We were there the first time for safari. We had a tour to the Buddha by the sea…amazing. This time we were passing through on our way to Ella. We ate at Red Pizza which was just as good second time round.

Was in Tissamaharama for Yala Safari, had booked the early morning Safari. Disappointed with the Safari as there were very few animals except.for.peacocks and spotted dear. Later into the ride our jeep driver and guide revealed we had entered through block 5 of the Safari and most the animals(Leopard, Bears) mostly are sighted in block 1 and 2. Block 1 and 2 were closed that day, maybe just our luck. So I guess check, with the Safari organizer before booking your safari as it quite expensive. Basically disappointed ☹️

Very good base for safari to Yala or Bundala parks. I' went to Bundala as I've never been to park with big wetlands and I think it was a great choice. We've seen numerous types of birds, lizards, monkeys, jackals, mangooses, bufallos, crocodiles and also few elephants😊 I didn't stay in center of Tissa but still was able to find nice restaurants, like Smoky Kitchen (recommended).diadesiPoland - 10Scored 10

Tissa is superb location with many Lakes, temples , archeological sites of ancient civilizations, beautiful paddy fields dotted with Temples & surrounded by mountains Also with boot & canoe tours , Jet skies , 4 x 4 Jeep tours, ideal for Bird watchers & of course for Safari and Wild life fans Also for Buddhist pilgrimages with lots of traditions Plenty sea food , sweat water fish varieties & many tropical fruits , Veggies are available Ideal location also for long term holidays with affordable to cheap prices

Our main purpose was to go for Safari, and this hotel is perfectly located from Yala National Park. They even packed us breakfast at 5am, so we can take it with us to Safari. We spent an afternoon at the pool, (and had it all to ourselves which was also a bonus). The food was great, and we had the buffet there. The staff were all amazing. Everyone that worked there, were quite young, but incredibly professional, polite and kind, and they all really went out of their way to help us.

The house keeper helped us to arrange a Jeep and a driver. also helped us on our route to Ella. My Village have a really nice swimming pool and an execelent chef who made us an incredible breakfast and also an incredible dinner! If your are plnaning a safari route, don't dubt to book here! Sri Lanka is a maravellous place, and eventhough the politic crisis, people will give you the best! Don't stop going.

The room was sparkling clean and comfortable but the best thing are the owners that are so attentive and nice, they gave us tips, Sri Lanka tea and treats, helped us arranging the Safari and even took us to see hundreds of bats in the afternoon.
